Current Image Finalization: Complete
Well, that's it folks! The art phase is now complete. There's a few things left to draw, like bonus content art to unlock and a main menu refresh, but the actual gameplay art is done.
I've added a couple game screencaps to my website to use as examples now:
I did the work on these a while ago but I felt like the website could use a better pic of Ren with a finished background and a closeup of Strade [ don't worry about the missing watermarks- since these will be my website examples they don't need them ^o^ ]
You may be wondering what is next!
For the most immediate future, I must take a week off to rest and pack/move [ sorry! ]. My moving day is coming up and I really need to get my stuff packed up. I am also quite severely mentally and physically burnt out 😅 Last week I did finish the art, but I also spent more than half of my time on moving tasks [ running back and forth to accept deliveries, building ikea bedframe, getting quotes on windows etc etc ]
The next week might start a little shaky as well since I'll be getting my internet sorted and unpacking.
But once all of that is done and I'm settled, I'll be starting on audio work.
I'll start by rewatching the 6 hour youtube instructional video I found, and then I'll start making tracks again.
There's 3 distinct stages to the audio work I need to do:
Make full length songs [ typical song structure ] for the main menu, credits menu, and various 'You Died' screens
Make gameplay loops [ I haven't determined how many I want yet ] for the in-game background mood [ these will be shorter in length and structured to loop nicely, I'll need a few for different moods/events ]
Insert sound effects throughout the game to enhance the vibes
I anticipate that this work will take me February and March to complete. Then the rest of development will be a sort of mishmash of smaller tasks, creating memelord mode/bonus content, and of course the beta testing.

In other news, I took a day last week to draw a picture for Blue Monday. I wanted to do one with color since I could use a little color in my life right now. You guys can have a sneak preview since you're the VIPs, but I'll be posting it to my website on Monday.
A couple people mention TINR and I realized it's been over a decade since I made the comic, and I thought it would be really nice to draw them again. I chose to do it from memory so they'd change a little.
I know a lot of people asked for my more recent characters, and I'll be trying my best to do a little something extra for you folks too. Maybe like a doodle page. This blue Monday is bluer than ever, so I feel like I should put in as much effort as I can.
I want to put joy into the world. I want to bring people a shred of happiness.
Anyway, thank you all so much for your support and your patience with my moving process. Soon it will be over!

2025-01-25 20:57:25 +0000 UTCHere's a direct printout from Lint [ not sure how accurate this is, but it's definitely the best tool I have for answering your question ]: The game contains 5,947 dialogue blocks, containing 44,912 words and 231,421 characters, for an average of 7.6 words and 39 characters per block. The game contains 79 menus, 812 images, and 55 screens. All of my Alpha testers reported that the game feels like it takes longer than the original game to play through. I think a big part of this is because my writing has changed significantly and I took the time to describe and draw more situations than the original. As for the price, it will be the same price as TPOF [ 14.99US ] but that is irrelevant to you since Patreon supporters will be getting game codes for free :)

I'm also curious what the price might end up being? so I can make sure I have the money aside the moment it releases :)

2025-01-19 19:41:05 +0000 UTCThat's pretty hard to answer since it's a text based game and people could technically just click as fast as possible through everything and get an ending in a minute or two 😂 I've been told by my alpha testers that it feels longer than the original version of Strade's path, but it honestly depends a lot on how you play the game. If you wanted to see every single piece of different text for instance, I think that could take a person a very very long time because of how the game is built. But if we're talking about just getting a single ending, then maybe like a half hour...? Even that's hard to estimate because some endings take a lot longer to reach than others.

Making music myself is something I'm totally brand new to so I'm definitely an amateur- but hopefully I can manage it! There will be great benefits if I can pull it off, like being able to get the exact mood and sound I want, and to be able to distribute the music in an OST however I want since I would hold the full rights to the music :D
