Saturday Update!

Saturday is here and it's finally my favourite part of December- The Liminal Space. The 26th to the 31st is a wonderful time when leftovers are abundant, the lights are still up, but the obligations are over. It's neither here nor there, the year is over but it's not.

It feels like an extra day of weekend, somehow.

I hope you're all doing alright. I know the holidays are deeply harrowing to some. We made it through the hard part, eh?

My week was easier than last week, so I'm grateful. It still had some stressors and I'm definitely still in a more anxious zone, sweating too much, etc, but I'm doing better. I decided to reduce my quota last week to a single image a day, so I only got 5 done, but I feel like it was good progress for the circumstances anyway. Before you yell at me for working on christmas, don't worry. I just prefer to split my time off up in a way that lets me enjoy the pride of progress while still taking more time to rest. I generally just worked half-days.

My reno 'adventures' are coming to a close. There's not much left to be done now. I haven't checked it yet today but I suspect that the only job left is them replacing my broken window. I've notified my current apartment manager that I'll be gone by February 1st, so this coming month will be busy with me moving.

I plan to work in tandem with that process but I'm sure there will be holes in my productivity as I try to balance my business, the final bit of the reno, and moving.

Anyway, let's get on with the report shall we?

Current Image Completion: 726/745 - 97% [ it's just a bigger 97 than last week LMAO ]

My 5 images consisted of a 4-image CG set [ kind of 'high action' though, so more redrawing needed ] and a single image that's really more of a 'sprite', but my file categorization is a bit arbitrary 😂

Here's a couple examples:

The background here is still a placeholder, that's actually one of the 5 remaining 'CGs', which consist of 4 'backgrounds' and one very penis heavy picture LMAO

There's still some straggler images to complete elsewhere like my backgrounds and effects folders [ and a couple finished pics to fix ], but I am getting pretty tangibly close to the finish line. I suspect around 3 weeks of work if moving doesn't take up too much of my time [ who am I kidding.... let's say 4 ]

I guess I'll be settling into my new home and finishing the art at nearly the same time. Getting used to new surroundings and a new workflow might be disorienting for me 😂 But I will keep trying my best.

Thank you all so much for your patience and support. I've gotten some very gentle and caring messages lately, along with generosity. My road is often rocky, but please know I see the hands offered to help me up and I know how lucky I am to have them. Thank you.

And since this is the end of the year, I want to thank you as well for letting me live for my art. I know I like to draw ugly and horrible things*, but art is my love and my faith. It means everything to me to be allowed to engage with it so much.
