Chapter 76 Gwen and Peter’s Spider Kiss

[“Nice to see you looking well, Harry!” Mary Jane exclaimed, surprised at Harry’s quick recovery.]

[Harry shook his head sympathetically. “That’s tough. You know, I wrote a script for you in high school.”]

[“You wrote a script for me?” Mary Jane laughed despite herself, finding his admission endearing.]

[“Yeah,” Harry replied, looking a bit embarrassed.]

[Mary Jane’s eyes softened. “Harry, you’re so sweet.” Memories of happier times between them surfaced, and her eyes turned misty.]

[On stage, Gwen addressed the crowd, her voice steady and inspiring. “So, I ask you: when you’re falling from a skyscraper, when your store is being robbed, or when your house is on fire…”]

[She paused, letting her words sink in. “Who will save you? Who will put out the flames and rescue your children?”]

[“Spider-Man!” the crowd shouted in unison.]

[“Then let us see our friendly neighbor, Spider-Man!” Following Gwen’s words and actions, Peter put on the spider mask and swung towards the podium from a distance.]

[Everyone on the stage stood up one after another, and the fans in the audience cheered his name enthusiastically. The band also started playing music at the right time.]

[Dodging oncoming traffic, Peter skillfully swung between vehicles, firing webs to change direction while pursuing the truck. As he closed the distance, he leaped into the air and launched a series of web balls at Marko, who had climbed onto the truck's roof. The web balls punched holes through Marko's sandy form.]

[Peter executed a stylish front flip, evading Marko’s retaliatory strike, and landed gracefully on the roof. Wasting no time, he followed up with a powerful sweep kick, shattering Marko’s legs. As Marko fell, Peter used his webbing to snatch the money bag from his hands and threw it back into the truck.]

[Marko, however, wasn’t done. He delivered a brutal punch that knocked Peter off the roof. Peter caught the edge and tried to climb back, but another punch forced him to swing away, only to collide head-on with a bus.]

[The bus’s windshield shattered, and the panicked driver slammed on the brakes. Peter, shaken but determined, swung back toward the truck, clinging to its side. Marko seized the opportunity to deliver another crushing blow, sending Peter crashing into the vehicle’s interior.]

[As Peter climbed through a broken window, he noticed a green van parked directly in the truck's path. Reacting quickly, he pulled the two guard, weaving a protective web around them. Unable to escape himself, Peter braced for impact as the money transport truck collided with the van, flipping over and skidding to a halt.]

[When the dust settled, Peter crawled out of the wreckage, battered but unyielding. He scanned the area but couldn’t spot Marko, who had retreated to the roof of a nearby building, watching Spiderman with frustration. Realizing he couldn’t secure the money with Spider-Man present, Marko left angrily.]

[The two guard, safely encased in Peter’s web, climbed down unscathed. Seeing they were unharmed, Peter swung away, satisfied with the outcome.]

[At home, Peter removed his mask, revealing a head full of sand. He shook his head in exasperation. “Where do these guys even come from?” he muttered, pulling off his shoes to empty out piles of sand.]"

Watching the broadcast, Tony Stark chuckled. “This guy’s a handful. Rhodes, want me to hook you up with a flamethrower? Next time you run into someone like that, just melt him on the spot.” Tony watched the entire battle between Peter Parker and Sandman, and asked Rhodes who was standing beside him.

"Do it!" Rhodes gestured to indicate that it was okay. He also felt that this kind of enemy was very tricky. Ordinary physical attacks were ineffective against him. Peter punched through his abdomen but did not cause any damage.

[“Or doing something you’ll regret—like killing another robber!” Mary Jane’s gaze bore into him.]

[Peter’s voice hardened. “He pointed a gun at me. I dodged it, and he fell. I’ve told you before.”]

[“I’m not blaming you!” Mary Jane quickly interjected, trying to reassure him.]

[The police radio interrupted their conversation again, its static filling the room. Mary Jane glanced at it, annoyed. “Can you turn that off for a moment?”]

[Peter reached over and turned the volume down. Mary Jane continued, “I’m here because I care about you, Peter. I know you feel guilty about what happened, but I just want to help you.”]

[“Thanks, but I don’t need your help,” Peter replied, his tone distant. “I’m fine.”]

[Mary Jane hesitated, sensing the wall Peter was building around himself. Finally, she turned to leave, pausing at the door. “Everyone needs help, Peter. Even Spider-Man.” With that, she closed the door behind her.]

[[Peter stared at the door for a moment before the police radio broke his train of thought. He walked over and turned the volume back up, putting on his Spider-Man suit as he listened for any updates about Marko.]

[Peter waited all night, but unfortunately there was no news from Marko. He was so exhausted that he fell asleep on the bed without taking off his uniform.]

[With thunder and lightning outside the window, Peter dreamed of Uncle Ben's death. The guilt in his heart kept him awake at night and he often woke up in his sleep.]

[A strange perspective appeared in the screen, and when Peter woke up, he hid aside. When Peter lay down again, he quietly moved towards the bed. ]

[Peter Parker was lying on the bed, and a threatening shadow appeared on the wall next to him. Peter was still immersed in the dream of Uncle Ben's death and didn't notice it at all.]

[Peter felt a surge of power coursing through him. He flipped sideways, vaulted upward, and then performed a daring backflip, landing with newfound grace. “Wow!” he exclaimed. “This feels... incredible!”]

[With a single swing, Peter propelled himself from the street to the roof of a skyscraper, a feat he had never managed before. Perched on a pointed pillar, he removed his hood and stared at his transformed suit. “This is... something else,” he murmured, marveling at the sheer strength now at his disposal.]

“Jarvis, what do we have so far?” Tony asked, still focused on the screen.

“Peter’s strength, speed, and web-swinging range have significantly increased. He reached a building height that was previously unattainable for him.”

“And the suit’s resilience?” Tony pressed.

“Data on the suit’s durability and web strength is still incomplete. Additional observations are required to determine the maximum enhancement.”

Tony crossed his arms, his gaze intense. “Let’s see just how powerful this Venom-enhanced Spider-Man really is.”
