[Marvel : Spoiling Spider-man] Chapter 36 - 40

Chapter 36 Rescue people from the fire

[In the latest newspaper, the headline reads: Crime rate increased by 75%! Where is Spider-Man?]

[Peter stood in front of a store, his eyes scanning the bold headlines of a newspaper. A somber expression crossed his face as his thoughts swirled. Suddenly, a woman’s voice broke through the air, sharp and frantic, shouting, "Help! Help!"]

[His head snapped up, and he instinctively moved toward the sound. Turning a corner, he saw a house engulfed in flames. For a brief moment, his body moved on autopilot, his hands reaching for his tshirt as if to remove it. But then he froze. Reality hit him like a brick wall—he was no longer Spider-Man.]

[Peter’s hands dropped to his sides, and he took a step back, hesitation and despair etched on his face. The weight of his decision to abandon the mask bore down on him once again.]

"Oh no, he’s no longer Spider-Man. He can’t save people from the fire," an elderly white woman murmured, her worried gaze fixed on Peter.

"Alas, Peter Parker is no longer Spider-Man," a firefighter nearby added grimly. "There’s no need for him to risk his life to save others." The fire blazed on, roaring louder with each passing second. The firefighter’s expression turned solemn as he muttered, "An ordinary person wouldn’t survive if they went in there."

"Peter Parker...what would you do?" A very beautiful girl with blonde hair looked at Peter who was slowly retreating, looking at him with some expectation.

[At that moment, the awning of the building’s upper floor collapsed, sending sparks flying and eliciting gasps from the onlookers.]

[A man of African descend hurriedly approached a group of people and shouted, "Alyssa! The daughter of the Chen family is missing. Have you seen her?" Panic spread through the crowd as another voice cried out, "Call the police! Somebody, help!"]

[Peter’s heart raced. The familiar sense of responsibility stirred within him, stronger than the doubts holding him back. Despite no longer being Spider-Man, Peter rushed toward the commotion. He stopped beside the black man and urgently asked, "Is there anyone else in the building?"]

[The man pointed toward the flames licking the second floor. Without turning his head, he shouted, "There’s a child trapped upstairs!" That was all Peter needed to hear. Without hesitation, he sprinted into the burning building, pushing past the crowd of fleeing bystanders.]

["Hey! Where are you going?" the man yelled after him, his voice filled with both confusion and concern]

[Peter dashed into the inferno, heading straight for the second floor. The heat was suffocating, and the smoke burned his lungs, but he pressed on. He could hear the faint sound of a child crying. Following the sound, he reached a locked door. "I’m here to help!" he shouted, hoping the child would hear him.]

[He tried ramming the door with his shoulder, but it wouldn’t budge. Pain shot through him, reminding him that he was just an ordinary person now. Gritting his teeth, Peter stepped back, gathered his strength, and kicked the door with all his might. It gave way, the splintering wood flying inward.]

[As Peter crouched low to enter, a section of the ceiling gave way behind him, collapsing with a deafening crash. He rolled instinctively, avoiding the falling debris by inches. Rubble now covered the spot where he had stood moments before.]

[Inside the room, Peter found a small girl hiding in a closet. She was trembling, her tear-streaked face peeking out hesitantly. "It’s okay," Peter said, his voice firm but gentle. "I’m here to get you out. Come on, let’s go."]

[He took the girl in his arms and began navigating their way back through the burning wreckage. Just as they stepped into the hallway, the doorframe behind them collapsed with a loud crash, the flames surging forward.]

[Their path ahead wasn’t any easier—the floor in front of them had completely collapsed, leaving a gaping hole that stretched too far to cross with ease. Sparks flew as electrical wires snapped and burst behind them, the fire greedily consuming everything in sight.]

[Peter’s mind raced. He looked down at the girl in his arms, then at the gap ahead. Taking a deep breath, he tightened his grip on the child and sprinted forward. With a desperate leap, he jumped across the gap, landing hard on the other side. But the floor beneath them groaned ominously and began to give way until finally it broke]

[The sudden drop sent Peter and the girl plunging downward. He reacted quickly, grabbing onto the edge of the crumbling floor with one hand while clutching the girl tightly with the other. The child screamed in terror, her small hands gripping Peter’s shirt.]

This thrilling scene made Aunt May scream out in shock. She couldn't believe that Peter would encounter such a dangerous thing. She almost cried again. Uncle Ben had to comfort her.

The unidentified people watching the screen were also shocked and began to cheer for Peter.

"Come on, Peter! You can do it!" someone shouted.

"He’s not Spider-Man anymore, but he’s still a hero!" another added.

[Peter gritted his teeth, his arms trembling as he fought to pull them both up. With one last effort, he managed to hoist the child onto the stable floor above. The girl crawled toward him and grabbed his arm, helping to give him the leverage he needed to climb up.]

[The moment he was back on solid ground, Peter scooped up the girl and rushed toward the exit. Just as they reached the stairs, another section of the building collapsed behind them, engulfing the area in smoke and flames.]

[Outside, the Chinese couple watched with bated breath, their faces pale with fear. Then, through the thick smoke, Peter emerged, coughing violently but holding their daughter tightly in his arms. He handed the girl over to them, their tearful cries of relief filling the air.]

[The girl scream “MOM!” as she run after her mom, now safe in her mother’s arms, looked back at Peter and said with a smile, "Thank you."]

"Yes! Peter Parker! You are the best! Yahoo!!"

"Peter Parker is so brave! He obviously has no super powers anymore, but he still rushed into the fire to save the little girl without hesitation."

"He is a true hero! Even without his super powers, his courage and kindness are still admirable."

"Peter Parker's actions demonstrate the nobility of his character. He risked his own life in order to save the life of another."

"He is our role model! Whether he has super powers or not, he has demonstrated through his actions what true bravery and selflessness are."

"Peter Parker's brave act is touching. He proves that a superhero doesn't necessarily need superpowers, all he needs is a brave heart."

"His actions remind us that everyone can be a hero, no matter how big or small."

For a time, Peter Parker’s act of heroism became a global sensation. Social media buzzed with admiration, news outlets rushed to report the story, and people everywhere praised his courage. However, the fire and police departments issued warnings, reminding citizens not to imitate Peter’s actions. Though his bravery was commendable, such acts were dangerous and should be left to professionals.

[Back at the scene, firefighters worked tirelessly to extinguish the blaze and check for hotspots. Peter sat on the curb, an oxygen mask over his face as he tried to steady his breathing. Despite his exhaustion, a faint smile played on his lips as he listened to the crowd’s cheers.]

[A firefighter approached him, patting him on the back. "You’ve got guts, kid," he said with a grin. Another firefighter added, "We found more people on the fourth floor. They didn’t make it."]

[Peter’s heart sank at the news. He turned away, staring into the distance as guilt gnawed at him. If only he still had his powers, maybe he could have saved them too.]

[Leaning against the side of a fire truck, Peter whispered to himself, "Shouldn’t I have what I want? What I need? What should I do?"]

Chapter 37 My Back

[At this time, the sudden arrival of the landlord’s daughter, Ursula, interrupted Peter’s thoughts. He turned his head to look at her as she stood hesitantly at the door. She hurriedly apologized, "I shouldn’t have come in without knocking." Then, blushing slightly, she turned and closed the door. A moment later, a knock came. Peter smiled faintly and called out, "Come in!"]

[Ursula opened the door cautiously and stepped inside. "Hi," Peter greeted her warmly. Ursula, a bit nervous, smiled back and said, "Would you like a piece of chocolate cake?"]

[Peter’s smile widened as he nodded. "That would be great," he replied. Ursula’s face lit up as she asked, "Another glass of milk to go with it?" Peter chuckled softly. "That would be even better!" he said.]

[Ursula nodded with a bright smile. "Okay," she said as she turned to leave, gently closing the door behind her. Moments later, she returned with a plate of chocolate cake and a glass of milk.]

[Under Ursula’s watchful and tender gaze, Peter ate the chocolate cake, savoring each bite. When he finished, Ursula quickly picked up his empty plate and glass. "Thank you," Peter said warmly, and Ursula beamed with happiness.]

[As she reached the door, Ursula suddenly paused, remembering something. She turned back and handed Peter a note. "Your aunt asked me to give you this," she explained. Peter took the note and thanked her again before unfolding it to read.]

"I guarantee that this girl absolutely likes Peter!" Tony immediately raised his hand and announced loudly.

Rhodes rolled his eyes. "Anyone who is not blind or stupid knows that this girl likes Peter."

[Meanwhile, Peter arrived at Aunt May’s house to find her packing up her belongings. Confused, he asked, "What’s going on?"]

[Aunt May didn’t look up as she continued working. "Oh, they gave me a few weeks, but I decided to move sooner rather than later. I found a small apartment," she said nonchalantly.]

[Peter stepped closer, his concern evident. "Why didn’t you tell me?" he asked.]

[Aunt May waved her hand dismissively. "I can handle it myself! Henry Jackson, the boy across the street, came over to help me. I gave him five dollars for his trouble," she replied with a smile.]

[Peter glanced at a small boy nearby and asked, "Is that Henry Jackson?" Aunt May chuckled. "Yes! It’s funny how much can change in two years. He’s only nine, but he already has big ambitions!" she said fondly.]

[Peter hesitated, wanting to revisit their previous conversation, but Aunt May cut him off. "It’s okay, Peter. There’s no need to bring it up again. It’s all in the past," she said reassuringly.]

Aunt May looked at Peter with relief, walked up to him and said, "But you took the brave step of telling the truth. I'm proud of you! Thank you! I... I love you, Peter! I love you very much!" Aunt May hugged Peter. ]

[Aunt May stepped closer to Peter, her expression softening. "But I’m proud of you for taking the brave step to tell the truth. Thank you. I love you, Peter. I love you so much!" she said, pulling him into a heartfelt hug.]

[After they embraced, Aunt May returned to her packing. Peter looked around and suddenly asked, "Hey, where are my comic books?"]

[Aunt May glanced over her shoulder. "Oh, I gave them away," she said casually. Peter groaned, lowering his head in mock despair. Nearby, Henry piped up, saying he had packed all the pots and pans. He greeted Peter with a cheerful wave.]

[Peter smiled at the boy and remarked, "You’ve grown a lot taller, haven’t you, Henry?" Aunt May nodded in agreement as she directed Henry to group the recipes and kitchen utensils together. The boy eagerly complied.]

[Henry then turned to Peter, his eyes sparkling with curiosity. "You used to take pictures of Spider-Man, right?" he asked eagerly.]

[Peter hesitated before answering, "I used to." Aunt May, who had been listening, looked up with interest. Henry pressed on, "Where is he now?"]

[Aunt May chimed in, "Yes, Peter. Henry and I were just saying we haven’t seen his picture in the paper for a long time."]

[Peter spread his hands helplessly. "He... quit," he said simply. Henry’s face fell. "Why?" he asked, clearly confused.]

["He wants to try something new," Peter replied. The boy’s disappointment was palpable as he asked hopefully, "He’ll come back, right?"]

[Peter didn’t know how to answer. After a brief pause, he said softly, "I don’t know." Henry turned away, looking crestfallen as he returned to his task.]

[Aunt May sighed, her tone reflective. "You’ll never guess what he wants to be," she said, looking at Peter. "Spider-Man!" Peter raised an eyebrow, puzzled. "Why?" he asked.]

[Aunt May’s face lit up with admiration as she explained, "He thinks Spider-Man is a true hero. There aren’t many who can climb walls and save old ladies like me."]

[As she continued packing, she added thoughtfully, "Kids like Henry need heroes. Selfless, fearless, and true heroes who inspire them to be better. People will line up for them, cheering their names, and years later, they’ll still talk about how those heroes taught them to hold on, even in the hardest moments."]

[She turned to Peter, her gaze steady. "I believe we all have a hero inside of us. Someone who teaches us to be honest, gives us strength, and makes us noble. Spider-Man is that kind of hero for Henry. That’s why he wants to know where Spider-Man is. He needs him."]

[Peter nodded slowly, her words resonating deeply. Aunt May then asked him to help move a table into the warehouse, warning him to be careful. Peter agreed, smiling softly as he followed her instructions.]

[The scene shifted to a rooftop. Peter stood alone, gazing out at the city. After a moment of contemplation, he muttered to himself, "Focus on what I want to do."]

[With a deep breath, Peter ran toward the edge of the rooftop. "I’m back! I’m back!" he shouted as he leaped into the air. But his excitement turned to terror as his momentum faltered, and he began to plummet.]

[Peter screamed as he fell, flailing helplessly. Luckily, a string of cables slowed his descent, but he slammed into a wall before tumbling onto a parked car, denting its roof. The impact sent him rolling onto the adjacent car with a loud crash.]

[Groaning, Peter pushed himself up, his face flushed with embarrassment. He clutched his back, wincing in pain. "My back! My back!" he cried out, limping away like a man twice his age.]

"Oh... I thought he’d really made a comeback," Tony said with mock disappointment. Then, unable to help himself, he burst into laughter. "Good thing he didn’t die! Imagine if Spider-Man fell to his death between two buildings—it’d be the world’s biggest punchline!" Tony chuckled, shaking his head at Peter’s misfortune.

"Pete... it hurts just watching him," Harry muttered as he watched Peter’s clumsy fall on a screen. Absentmindedly, he rubbed his own back as if sharing in the pain.

Chapter 38 Mary Jane is captured

[Mary Jane sat at the dining table, flipping through a stack of invitations. Nearby, John Jameson reclined on the sofa, glancing over at her. "Honey, are you really not going to invite your photographer friend? Peter Parker?" he asked casually.]

[Mary Jane looked up at him with a faint smile before returning her attention to the invitations. "Not invited," she said firmly.]

[John furrowed his brow, puzzled. "I thought he was your good friend," he continued. "Peter Parker?" "Yeah," Mary Jane replied with a sigh, her voice heavy with emotion. "He’s a big jerk."]

["There are so many jerks in this world," John said with a light chuckle.]

[Mary Jane found his comment endearing. She looked at John affectionately as he reached out to take her hand, planting a tender kiss on it. "Of course," he added with a charming smile.]

[Mary Jane tilted her head slightly, her smile deepening. Suddenly, a playful idea crossed her mind. "Can you tilt your head back?" she asked.]

["Tilt my head back?" John echoed, confused.]

["Yes, just do as I say," she insisted.]

[John complied, leaning his head back. Mary Jane adjusted the pillow behind him and leaned over to kiss him. As their lips met, John felt a rush of warmth, as though he were floating on air. But as the kiss lingered, Mary Jane’s expression grew more contemplative. Her mind seemed far away, lost in a memory she couldn’t shake.]

[John, oblivious to her internal conflict, sighed contentedly. "I feel like I’m back on the moon," he said, smiling dreamily.  But Mary Jane’s distant gaze remained, her thoughts clouded by something only she understood.]

"Oh, I understand. She is reminiscing about the upside-down kiss she had with Peter, oh no, it should be said that she had Spider-Man!" As a playboy, Tony instantly understood what Mary Jane was thinking.

"It seems that having sex with many women does have its benefits, huh?"

"Of course, I know exactly what those girls are thinking!" Tony said narcissistically, and then he realized that the voice was not from Rhodes. He turned around and saw that it was Pepper who had come back at some point and was looking at him with a smile on her face.

That ordinary smile seemed like the devil to Tony, so he quickly stood up and explained to Pepper, while constantly hinting with his eyes that Lieutenant Colonel Rhodes, his unethical friend, who did not give him any warning.

Pepper ignored Tony who was in a hurry and sat down on the seat. Seeing that the situation was not good, Rhodes quickly slipped away, leaving Tony looking at Pepper pitifully.

[Meanwhile, Mary Jane sat alone in a bustling coffee shop, stirring her drink absentmindedly. Peter approached from behind, his voice soft as he said, "Hi." Mary Jane turned, surprised. "Peter!"]

["Is this unexpected?" Peter asked, offering a small smile.]

["What a shock," Mary Jane replied, her tone half-joking but tinged with genuine surprise. "Thank you for coming."]

[Peter studied her face, sensing her unease. "Is everything okay?" he asked.]

[Mary Jane hesitated, her thoughts tangling as she searched for the right words. "You could say that. But honestly, it’s ridiculous. I don’t know how to explain it. You know how people sometimes deceive themselves?"]

[Peter nodded slowly. "Tell me about it."]

["I’m the perfect example," she said with a bitter laugh. "That night after the performance, when you said you changed for me... I just couldn’t believe it. I was too afraid to trust you."]

[Peter lowered his gaze, guilt flickering in his eyes. "Listen," he began, his voice heavy. "I need to tell you something. What I said that night... I didn’t think it through."]

[Mary Jane tilted her head, her expression shifting. "Wait," she interrupted. "What are you trying to say?"]

[Peter swallowed hard, his voice faltering. "I thought I could be with you, Mary Jane... but I can’t. I was fooling myself."]

[Mary Jane’s face fell, her emotions teetering on the edge. "Do you love me or not?" she demanded.]

[Peter looked away, fighting the pain in his chest. Finally, he whispered, "I... don’t love you."]

[Her breath hitched, and she stared at him, trembling. "You don’t love me?" she echoed, her voice cracking. Then, with sudden resolve, she leaned closer. "Kiss me."]

[Peter blinked in confusion. "Kiss you?" he repeated.]

["I want to be sure," she said, her tone urgent. "Just one kiss."]

[Before Peter could react, she took his hand and leaned in. Their faces were inches apart when Peter’s Spider-Sense flared to life. His eyes widened as he turned to see a black car speeding toward them.]

[Grabbing Mary Jane, he dove out of the way, narrowly avoiding the collision. Mary Jane screamed as they tumbled to safety, the car smashing into the café’s front window.]

[The ground shook as metallic thuds echoed through the street. Mary Jane clutched Peter’s arm, her voice trembling. "What’s going on?"]

[Peter’s jaw tightened as several mechanical arms slammed into the pavement. Dr. Otto Octavius emerged from the shadows, a sinister smile on his face. "Peter Parker," he said mockingly. "And his girlfriend."]

["What do you want, Otto?" Peter asked, his voice steely.]

[One of Otto’s tentacles shot forward, grabbing Peter by the neck and hoisting him into the air. "I want you to find Spider-Man," Otto hissed. "Tell him to meet me at the West Side Clock Tower at three o’clock."]

["I don’t know where he is!" Peter choked out.]

[Otto’s glasses were removed by another tentacle, revealing his piercing gaze. "Find him," Otto growled. "Or I’ll kill her." His other arms extended menacingly toward Mary Jane.]

[Peter struggled against the tentacle’s grip, his voice fierce. "If you touch her—"]

["What will you do?" Otto interrupted, smirking. With a powerful swing, he hurled Peter into a wall, leaving him crumpled in the rubble. Mary Jane screamed as Otto seized her with his mechanical arms and disappeared into the distance.]

[Peter groaned, pulling himself from the wreckage. As he stumbled to the street, he ripped off his glasses, blinking in surprise. His vision was clear. His strength had returned. His powers were back.]

[Determined, Peter clenched his fists. With Spider-Man’s abilities restored, he knew he had only one choice. Mary Jane needed him, and he would not fail her.]

"Mary Jane is going too far. She already has a fiancee, yet she still wants to flirt with Peter." Uncle Ben frowned, and his impression of Mary Jane became even worse.

"Peter Parker lost his superpowers because of her, and also regained his superpowers because of her. This is a man. He must protect the most important person in his life!" Tony sighed.

"In fact, without Spider-Man, the crime rate there soared by 75%, which is enough to show his importance. Fortunately, he is back." Pepper also said.

[The narration suddenly sounded: "In order to protect the important people, sometimes sacrifices are necessary. Didn't Natasha know that she would die? But she still pushed Barton down without hesitation and jumped off the cliff, exchanging her soul for a soul! Just for the last glimmer of hope!"]

[“Didn’t Tony Stark know that he would die? He knew better than anyone that even Banner in the body of the Hulk still couldn’t withstand the huge energy. He scream in pain as he try to use the gauntlet.”]

[“Banner suffered great harm and wanted to bring everyone back, but he failed to bring back his beloved Natasha. She really can’t come back.”]

[“There was only a one in fourteen million chance. When Strange said that, Tony knew that this was the only hope, so he did not hesitate to take his own life in exchange for victory in the war, and thereby save all lives in the universe.”]

[“Tony Stark finally stood shoulder to shoulder with gods with his mortal body! And at the last moment of his life, he is Iron Man!”]

Chapter 39 Guess

Tony: "Shock!!!???"

Banner: " And what does this have to do with me>>?"

Natasha: “???”

People watching the screen: “???”

The sudden, explosive revelation from the narration on the screen sent ripples of confusion across the universe. On his throne, Thanos sat brooding, muttering thoughtfully, "Tony Stark!"

"What do you mean? Explain it clearly!" Tony looked at the screen in confusion, but the screen had fallen silent and ignored Tony's question.

"He said you saved the entire universe..." Rhodes looked at Tony in surprise. Is this really the playboy he knew?

"Natasha Romanoff... That’s your real name, right?" Tony said suddenly, his eyes shifting to Natasha, who stood beside Pepper. Despite Nick Fury mentioning her name only once, Tony had committed it to memory

"Tony, you remembered it wrongly, her name is Natalie Rushman!" Pepper looked at Tony in confusion, "That is her fake name, her real name is that!" Tony stared at Natasha.

"What?" Pepper was a little surprised. "She is an undercover agent planted in Stark Industries by Nick Fury, the director of SHIELD. I know about this since that one eyed balled eagle came here with her." Tony explained Natasha to Pepper.

But none of this was important. What was more important was The Screen's few short sentences. There was so much information in them that for a moment Tony didn't even know where to start to sort out the whole story.

"Okay," Tony began, pacing as he spoke. "Let’s assume Natasha’s sacrifice provided a glimmer of hope, and Banner somehow brought everyone back. But... this Banner couldn’t be the big green rage monster, could it?"

"Dr. Banner is the Hulk's normal form. When he can't control his anger, he will transform into the Incredible Hulk!" Natasha confirmed Tony's idea.

"Does he know you well? Does he really like you? After all, you are 'beloved Natasha' to him." Tony joked. Natasha rolled her eyes. Under Pepper's death gaze, Tony coughed twice and didn't dare to continue the topic.

"Right, let’s get back to business," Tony continued. "If Banner brought everyone back, why did he need to? What happened to them? Were they all dead? Or forced to leave? Considering I apparently sacrificed myself to save the universe, let’s assume they all died."

"Then what’s the sequence of events?" Tony began to theorize aloud. "The narrator mentioned victory in the war. So, a massive war breaks out across the universe. Countless lives are lost, but victory still feels impossible."

"To create a chance at winning, Natasha sacrifices herself, exchanging her soul for a soul. Banner then somehow brings everyone back, but even then, the war remains unwinnable. So, in the end, I sacrifice myself," Tony said, pointing to himself.

Rhodes nodded. "That sounds about right."

"Then the question is, who is this Strange? Jarvis, search for him And what’s with the one-in-14-million chance? That’s absurd! More than 14 million outcomes, and we only win once? And it costs my life?" Tony complained, incredulous.

Tony complained that the probability was too low, and at the same time he was narcissistic and he added with a self-satisfied smirk, "I mean, it does make sense that I’m the one to save the universe."

"Sir, relevant information about Strange has been found! The most famous one is a famous neurosurgeon in New York, whose full name is Stephen Strange!" Jarvis listed countless people named Strange.

"Hmm..." Tony took a quick glance and said, "Let's focus on these people first. What the Screen is talking about must be things that will happen in the future." He waved his hand and asked Jarvis to include these people as the focus of attention.

"If Banner used the Hulk’s body to harness this ‘huge energy’ but was still tortured by it, that means this energy is reusable but comes at an enormous cost. And I..." Tony paused dramatically, "will use it to save everyone, even if it kills me."

"Do you know how powerful the Hulk is? I know it has caused a lot of damage, but I don't know its specific data." Tony looked at Natasha who was talking to Nick Fury on her communicator. After hearing Tony's question. She turned from her conversation with Nick Fury, responding coolly, "There’s no exact data. We do know that no thermal weapon except a nuclear bomb can harm him. The military once tried sonic weapons, which only had a minimal effect before he escaped."

Natasha recalled the information about the Hulk.

"Wow," Tony muttered, his eyes widening slightly. "The Hulk, who’s practically invincible, was tortured by this energy? That gives me a whole new appreciation for how ‘huge’ it really is." He turned to Jarvis. "Create a new file and label it: To withstand unimaginable energy."

"But what I can't understand is, soul for soul? What does it mean? Is Natasha's soul important? Can it bring back countless dead people? And Barton... who is that? Why did you push him down?"

"Agent Clint Barton, that's my colleague. Maybe he wants to stop me?" Natasha ended the call with Nick Fury and answered Tony's question.

"As for your other question, how should I know?" Natasha didn't know what would happen in the future, so naturally she had no answer to Tony's question.

"Well, it looks like we can only draw rough conclusions for now. Aren't you guys very capable? I'll leave it to you to analyze it, and I won't rack my brains." Tony thought about it and gave up. The information was overwhelming, but there were too few clues, and he didn't want to waste his time any more.

"I'm afraid not! Director Nick Fury ordered me to go back immediately. By the way, he asked you to come with me. Let's go!" Natasha nodded, but then said Nick Fury's order. Tony rolled his eyes when he heard it.

"Hey! I'm not your employee! I don't take his bullshit orders."

"Tony, this is for your own good. You were already very famous, and now you're even more famous. I even suspect that soon reporters will surround the door of your villa." Natasha advised.

Looking at Natasha's face and thinking of her sacrificing herself for victory, Tony couldn't refuse the request of such a person, so he had to follow her out of Stark Industries. Pepper wanted to follow, but was rejected by Tony.

In S.H.I.E.L.D., Nick Fury held a communicator in his hand and pressed the switch. His one eye stared at the flashing lights and he muttered to himself: "Carol, is it time to call you back now?"

Hill walked in with Natasha, Tony "Natasha and Stark are here, Barton is on his way back."

Chapter 40 Analyzing Information

Nick Fury placed the pager on his desk, its faint blinking light reflecting his thoughtful expression. Tony Stark, seated casually across from him, noticed the device immediately. "What’s this? An old pager?" he asked, his curiosity piqued

”This is my last trump card, used to call for help at the most critical moment." Nick Fury looked at the pager that was constantly flashing light and recalled the past with Captain Marvel.

"What does that mean? A trump card? Calling for help? You’re telling me you’ve got reinforcements, and you’re relying on this ancient relic to summon them?" Tony looked at Nick Fury, wondering what kind of reinforcements such an old pager could call for.

"Yes! A powerful reinforcement, but it may take her a while to come, after all, she may be far away from us."

"How far?"

"I don't know. I don't even know when she will come, but it probably won't be too long. After all, the information from the screen can be seen by the whole universe."

Over the past few months, Earth’s scientists had confirmed that the mysterious screen broadcast its messages simultaneously across the universe. The information it shared wasn’t constrained by the limits of time or space.

"Okay then. How's your analysis of the information from The Screen?" Tony looked at Nick Fury, wanting to know his opinions.

"Tell me about yours first."

Tony didn't comment and told him all his previous guesses. Nick Fury nodded, then handed a document to Tony and said, "I don't know what that 'huge energy' is at the moment, but we have something similar, which is what the document in your hand describes."

"Cosmic Cube? What is that? Hmm... interesting!" Tony looked at the information about the Cosmic Cube in his hand, but he couldn't figure out anything for the time being.

"Let's put this aside for now. It won't be too late to study it later. What do you think about that 'War!'?" Tony put the information aside. Although the Cosmic Cube is very interesting, it is not something that can be studied easily.

"My opinion? How would I know! That's a war concerning the entire universe. Does the Earth have the ability to launch such a war? To be honest, I don't believe it myself! Do you believe it?" Nick Fury didn't think that the Earth had this ability at all.

"Also, there are not only Earthlings in this universe. Maybe the war was started by aliens, and then it spread to Earth."

"Hmm... The Earth, human who can't even leave the solar system, has become the savior of the entire universe? It feels like a third-rate plot on a movie. To be honest, I don't believe it." Tony changed his posture and said.

"Also, how do you know for sure there are aliens? Have you ever encountered one?"

"Yes, Tony. You don't think we've done nothing in all these years, do you?"

"Really? Tell me about it..." Tony expressed his doubt.

"You don't need to know so much. There are many things you don't understand, and there is no need to understand them."

Nick Fury skipped the topic and continued, "Regarding Strange, we have currently locked onto all the people with this name, but have not found anything special. We can only continue to observe."

"And that ‘one in fourteen million’ chance?" Fury mused. "It’s clear Strange knows how to win this war. More importantly, he has your trust, Tony. That’s why you chose to sacrifice yourself without hesitation."

"And Natasha, exchanging souls for souls? We don't have any research on souls yet, but since The Screen said so, it proves that people definitely have souls. Natasha traded her soul with a certain being, so she can never come back..."

"Agent Barton went with her, but I guess they didn't know about the soul-exchange at first, otherwise Natasha wouldn't have to push Barton down and jump off the cliff."

"It happened suddenly, so Barton wanted to stop Natasha, or he wanted to exchange his soul, but failed to win over Natasha." Nick Fury's analysis caused everyone to nod repeatedly.

"Another point is that Banner has the body of the Hulk... I don't quite understand this. As far as I know, Dr. Banner can't control the big green monster. As long as he gets angry, he will turn into the Hulk, and at that time he is no longer himself, but a monster that can only destroy continuously."

"Come to think of it, it's a bit problematic. Maybe in the future Dr. Banner has learn to coexist or even control the Hulk?" Tony bit the tip of his pen, supported his head with his hand, and guessed while looking at the pager.

"We can't be sure about this for now, let's put it aside for now and..." Before Nick Fury finished his words, he saw someone walking towards the door.

A SHIELD agent knocked on the door, attracting everyone's attention. He glanced at everyone present and said, "Put it here." Nick Fury knocked on the table. He walked over, put the information on the table, and then walked out, closing the door.

"What’s this?" Tony asked, leaning forward eagerly.

"We have found Bruce Banner's information and his current location"Natasha, I need you to bring him in," he said, passing the folder to her. "If anyone can handle the Hulk, it’s you."

Since the Screen mention Bruce calling the Black Widow his beloved Natasha, the green monster couldn't possibly hurt her, right? Therefore, handing it over to Natasha was the best choice.

Natasha nodded, took the information and walked out. There was no time to lose, she had to bring Dr. Banner back as soon as possible to avoid any more trouble.

"What did you want to say just now?" Tony looked at Nick Fury.

"I mentioned the Avengers plan to you before, but you didn't agree at that time. But have you changed your mind now?" Nick Fury stared into Tony's eyes.

Tony Stark thought for a moment, "I agree to join, but to be clear, I will not serve the government, nor will I take orders from you."

Fury frowned, but he knew Tony's value, so he said, "I understand your position, but we need your skills and intelligence."

Tony shrugged. "I'll offer my expertise, but don't expect me to follow orders like a soldier. I'm an individual and I do things my own way."

Tony threw the pen on the table and stood up. "Okay, now that we are clear, let's get to work. But remember, I will only do what I think is right."

Tony left S.H.I.E.L.D. and decided to return home immediately to start making a new Ironman armor, although he had already successfully made a portable Mark V armor.

But he felt that this was not enough, he needed a stronger armor, and the ultimate goal was to be able to withstand unimaginable energy to ensure that he would not be killed by that 'huge energy' in the future!

He hadn't lived enough, he hadn't even given Pepper a home, how could he just die like this? Although he sacrificed himself to save the entire universe, he still didn't want to die if he could live.
