the memory daki saw was actually muzan’s. the demon slayer approaching muzan is not tanjiros dad (although the resemblance is there). shinjuro (rengokus dad) mentioned that chosen sun breathers are born with a red scar on their forehead. tanjiro clarifies that he acquired the scar and wasn’t born with it so he must not be a chosen weilder. however, the demon slayer from the memory also has a red scar, that demon slayer was a sun breather, hence why tanjiro triggered the passed on memory in daki. in that moment she felt the same fear muzan did during his encounter with a sun breather. sun breathers make muzan nervous.

2026-01-01 09:20:41 +0000 UTC9:47 Guess this is never really explained in the anime, but when these demons become demons their mind gets almost a "clean" new slate, most demons remember only subconcious things through their nervous system but without any connection to their human memories. That's one of Muzans little tricks. And obviously they don't age/die and can live for hundreds of years if not slayed. Like how often do you forget little things you did 10 minutes ago 🥲 Can't imagine living 200+ years, our brain is not built for that 🤣

And I knew those cliffhangers would get you heated!! 🤣 There was another part in the manga that had the narrator explain things that didn't make the anime which is the part where Tanjiro was "in the zone." Many anime-only watchers get confused on why he suddenly stopped and the reason is because he wasn't breathing the entire time which was extremely dangerous especially using the sun breathing techniques. He would have died even if he managed to cut off Daki's head and it would have been for nothing knowing that they still had to face her brother. Also Nezuko's part was so emotional for me because it's the first time since turning into a demon that she was finally able to grieve the loss of her mother 😭 but anyways great reaction as always!!! Can't wait for the final episodes and see how you react to those!! Here's to Demon Slayer 2026!! Happy New Year!
