Poor Mike. He tried to prevent it, but still, the guilt and all the "what ifs" have to be unbearable.

Finally after the Christmas rush at work I get to sit down and watch. Love this episode, so well written and Jonathan Banks does such a good job playing Mike. The pacing for Better Call Saul is a lot slower than Breaking Bad, but thats really not a bad thing as it allow's the show to do a lot of world building and character development there wasn't as much time for in Breaking Bad.

I feel like the bar man telling Mike to watch out for tarantulas is calling back (forward?) to the kid on the bike

Appreciate you Feliciano and thank you for sharing this with us…that scene was brutal but so vital to what men need to hear🙏

Exactly!👍

btw Tarantulas, be on the lookout for them in ABQ. Remember who found the tarantula? I love the little Easter eggs slipped in here as call forwards to Breaking Bad.

As a son who has difficulty with their father, I find this scene more and more moving. Lots of hurt and yet love and yearning for connection that can be so complicated. Tom has had such a consistent stance that has always touched me deeply about how a son just wants to hear that he can do it and that he's worthy and valued by his father. (literally bawling writing this)

“I broke my boy” hearing Mike say that fighting tears hurts

Some things to think about with BCS. Blue hue is film from the past. Black and white is future/after BB

Episodes like this are why Better Call Saul will forever reign supreme It is just insane how Mike who was supposed to be an unnamed throwaway character just to clean up the Jane plot line ends up becoming one of the most deeply nuanced and emotional characters in American television. Phenomenal, gritty, and real performance from Jonathan Banks
