I assumed Mike figured that the police were there for him, therefore they would ask Kaylee where he was, she would turn around and see him gone, and they would bring her home. It's really traumatizing seeing a parent or loved one being arrested in front of you, especially at her age. If he stayed he would've gotten arrested, seemingly at gunpoint, in front of his granddaughter. It's not like the police didn't know she was there - he clarified he was at the park with his granddaughter while on the phone with the lawyer (with the police present.)

2025-11-04 04:51:56 +0000 UTCWell said. So important to bring back the line about the time bomb. The tragedy here is that Mike was taken out by Walt, despite being so much more capable than Walt. He let his guard down and was there for the boom. Him, of all people, should have seen it coming. RIP.

2025-11-02 22:19:24 +0000 UTCWhat a shock it was to see Mike die way before the end of the show. Never expected it, but in hindsight it was inevitable. Mike told Walt, "You are a time bomb tick, tick, ticking, and I have no intention of being around for the boom." And that was exactly what happened here, Mike set him off. But although Mike loved his granddaughter and wanted a simple family life, the fact is that he also became a monster. He abetted the disappearance of Drew Sharp. Drew was someone's grandson. His dad or uncle or mom or any other relative bought him the dirt bike, and the guys disassembled it, calculating and methodically, coldly, and cut it and put it in a barrel to dissolve. Then they did the same with the boy's body. And that is something that not only drives the mind insane, but the soul as well, the hearts of his parents and family who will never know what happened to Drew. And that scene, the music, the atmosphere, makes the whole act evil, demonic, and that is what these guys became.

2025-11-02 16:27:09 +0000 UTCJonathan banks (the Actor for Mike) said to the writers that he personally would never have left his granddaughter on that swing in the park

2025-11-02 16:13:27 +0000 UTCWatching again. Walter said “this didn’t need to happen”, but I believe the end of his sentence would have been “if you had just given me the names”. If you had done what I wanted. There was no sudden understanding of how everything he’s done has led to this. Walt never stops blaming other people for causing the problems.

2025-11-02 03:53:01 +0000 UTCI don't think Mike was a good guy, sure he was able to convince the audience he was good but he did so much to be labeled a "bad person". I think the main reason people see him as good is because of his opposition to Walt at this point. But one of the things I like about this story is that the creators wanted to show that crime doesn't pay, you can show the criminals doing their mundane tasks, at the end of the day they all meet justice. I could be wrong but I think this is one of the more interesting parts of this piece of media.
