2025-11-02 09:53:58 +0000 UTCin earlier episodes there was a mystery man shown who mentioned that 5 swordsmen had survived final selection, however when tanjiro completed the trial only 4 were shown. zenitsu reveals that inosuke (ee-noh-skay) was the 5th survivor who was the first to complete the trial, by the time tanjiro arrived he had already left the mountain.

2025-10-31 06:14:24 +0000 UTCthe boar head dude Inouske his name is pronounced "ee no skay", pronouncing Japanese romaji (Roman lettering) in English can be confusing if you haven't studied it a bit or know how certain pronunciations are made but you'll figure it out as you go along, at least fullmetal alchemist has relatively more Anglic names that are easier to remember haha. glad you're enjoying this! no spoilers but that group of three (Tanjiro, Inouske, and Zenitsu) generally stay together as a group the rest of the show so look forward to more hijinks with their trio of cartoonish madness. at least this episode didn't end on a major cliffhanger like some other shows (looking at you, attack on titan)
