2025-09-30 02:32:17 +0000 UTCIt was interesting to see what Mike’s breaking point was with Jesse in that series of events. When Jesse said to Mike “If I’m the guy…” Mike bursts out saying “You are not the guy. You’re not capable of being the guy. I had a guy, but now I don’t.” He was talking about Victor who Gustavo k!lled in the episode “Box Cutter”. When I watched that episode I really tried to analyze the body language of Mike because his reaction intrigued me the most. When Gus slashed Victor, Mike’s immediate response was to grab his gun and point it at Gus, but he stopped himself from shooting. Why would somebody as trained as Mike point a loaded gun at his incredibly intimidating and powerful boss? Mike would only do that if Victor meant more to him than the consequences of killing Gustavo. After Mike puts the gun down, I can tell by his facial expression that he didn’t just lose a coworker he lost someone he considered a friend. Whenever a traumatic moment happens with Mike he always has this look like “Well that’s just part of the job.” and moves on. Not with Victor though. They went on stake outs together, worked security, and clean up jobs too. I also feel Mike holds resentment towards Walt and Jesse for that. That’s why he lashes out on Jesse in that exact moment.
