January '25 Vote - Richmond's World?

If you read this month's newsletter you might remember that I said I'd like to get your take first (as my biggest fans) on what appears here on Patreon, versus my future ebook publications.

I'm thinking of making any future ebook series (on Amazon & elsewhere) standalones, and keeping the characters from Richmond's world for Patreon only.

You'd obviously still get your early release chapters of all those new ebooks on here as usual, but there wouldn't be storylines for previous characters in them. Like for example, there is now in 'Black Marks' with Ash & Marcie from my previous series.

I wouldn't always link a new series to Richmond's world. I'd focus the new books solely on new characters.

What do you think of this approach? It wouldn't necessarily have to be forever. For example if as a group, you really wanted any particular new characters to eventually connect up to the Lanie story and Richmond's world so you could hear more from them, then that could be made to happen.

Let me know your opinion because I'm not tied to any change. And as usual, you can add your further thoughts or ideas in the comments section below.

Yes, I understand why you, Chinook & others would likely be more invested in the most familiar characters. It's good to hear everyone's thoughts here though, even if you choose not to vote this time around.

I kind of agree with what Chinook is saying. This is a tough call for me, and why I haven't voted yet. I much prefer the more established characters in Richmond's world since I am so invested in the characters. At the same time I am thoroughly enjoying the Black Marks book. In that series, there is a little bit of a compromise since you also have two couples, one new and one old from a previous series, so we get a taste of both. I am a little concerned about having to wait a long time to get back to characters if it is only on Patreon, but I do enjoy your writing in general. Maybe a new series could have a brand new couple with one other couple from the older stories featured as well. I think two is the most you can do, as three is just too much, in my opinion. I don't know though, I am just spitballing here. As Chinook said, you can try a whole new cast of characters in a new standalone series and reevaluate and change it up if needed.

This is a tough choice for me as well and I didnt vote because I don't really know what is the best approach. I kind of side with Chinook in that I am more invested in the more established characters in Richmond
