Course of Temptation Dev Diary #99

Hello again friends! It is time for another dev diary, where we're on the verge of triple digits!

Last week I said I would be working on the November update, and, well, that's exactly what I've been doing. My focus this month is adding a new seasonal event, so mostly I've been doing a lot of writing.

I invited you to guess what the new seasonal event might be... and surprisingly, nobody did! Given we've already covered Halloween and Thanksgiving in some form, what else comes this time of year? Or... doesn't come this time of year?? I am talking about No Nut November.

What is this event? How will it work in a game with no month of November? What does it all mean? I'll let this man explain:

But to be a bit more practical, No Goon Gourdtober is a month in which participants (all genders are welcome) are challenged not to orgasm. You can still tease and even enjoy encounters, but going to completion is to be avoided! This trend sweeps the campus, and as the month goes on, participating students will feel increasingly pent up and their behavior will reflect that, so you'll see some of the effects even if you're not participating personally. For example, you might bend over in front of somebody and force them out of the challenge without even intending to.

Of course, if you are participating personally, your PC will be feeling these effects as well, and everyday life will become a bit of a minefield of trying (and failing) to avoid stimulation. You'll have a bit of a rivalry as well, someone who is sure they can last longer than you, and you'll be able to try to tempt each other into failing the challenge.

This is all a reason to write a bunch of events that play with temptation and denial, and a steadily building urgency throughout the month, all leading to a messy conclusion the moment you no longer need to hold back. Events unique to NGG will be placed into numerous event sets, and, if you're participating, you'll find that temptation will be everywhere.

If you're not participating, then you may just find joy in making others fail the challenge! This will generally come with a little Composure boost. But if you do accept the challenge and somehow make it through, unique inclinations will be yours.

I'm still in the midst of writing events, and I'll add as many of these as I have time for as we go into next week. In addition, I plan to create some edging mechanics, and if I have time, I'll see if I can fulfill the frequent request of chastity devices, which is also fairly thematic for this update. However, I don't like to focus on just one thing for a monthly update, so I'll also set aside time to work on other items from my todo list next week.
