Course of Temptation October Update (v0.7.2)

Hello friends! The October update has arrived!

This update adds a new location, the observatory in the Hallowell cluster, which is of particular interest to intellectually-inclined PCs and NPCs. A new relaxation activity is here in the attached planetarium, and you can also take NPCs here for hangouts and dates. A new set of extra credit tasks also takes place here, which create a new storyline NPC (usually a professor).

Besides the new location, this update has mostly focused on lots of little things: Euphoria Mode for the trading card game, naps before class, simpler umbrella management, witnessing encounters between NPCs, and a bunch of other, well, little things.

If you're not aware, we're maintaining two parallel development cycles:

The monthly update might contain new event sets, new locations, or new mechanics, but usually focuses on extending existing content or polishing existing systems. It comes out once a month with whatever we got done in that time period... hence the name!

The roadmap update checks off one or more items on the roadmap, adding extensive new mechanics and a bunch of related new events in one go, often fundamentally changing how the game can be played. It usually takes multiple months.

Release notes

• Added the Selena Benton Observatory, a new location in the Hallowell cluster (the science buildings in the far corner of campus)

• The observatory has a planetarium that you can see shows at for a Relaxation boost, particularly if your character is intellectually-inclined

• There is also an observatory gift shop with some unique items (contributed by Meat Glacier)

• Added a “go to the planetarium” hangout and date, an activity that will entertain your more intellectually-inclined friends and lovers

• Added a new set of extra credit tasks that take place at the observatory in the wee hours of the morning and set up a new storyline character (usually a professor, sometimes an older student)

• Re-integrated some storyline events that didn’t interact well with living in a Greek house, such as the one with the roommate and their partner, and the BFF’s all-nighter favor event

• Added an opportunity event to remove your top at the quad party if you’ve previously gone topless here (such as in the dare event)

• Added a dialogue option to unilaterally end a friendship

• NPCs now have a reaction if you initiate an in-person conversation when you’re a mess

• Under Save Options, you can now manage cross-save books that appear on Alakaz.on

• Added new hydra-themed sex toy and new paddles (contributed by Meat Glacier)

• You can now collect your Alakaz.on earnings through the app rather than needing to use a computer

• Updated gym pool location image art (contributed by HeartsDmise)

• Added some heat retention sportswear, new costumes, and other miscellaneous clothing (contributed by Hee Ho)

• Adjusted some clothing colors, reorganized and reordered some clothing shops, adjusted some NPC outfits, and other general clothing tweaks (contributed by Hee Ho)

• Added a Greek house merch online shop (available once you’ve joined a house) that sells several new Greek-themed items (contributed by Rfpnj, site icon by HeartsDmise)

• Added Euphoria Mode to the trading card game, an alternate mode in which you battle with the complication of remote-controlled sex toys (contributed by noonycurt)

• Rare unusual first names and unfortunate surnames can now be toggled off as a world generation option

• Added dialogue lines NPCs may say when the PC learns their names (with contributions from HeartsDmise)

• You can now try to nap before class if you have the time, though sleeping despite the noise isn’t always easy!

• Owning an umbrella plus carrying a bag that can fit it now counts as rain protection, without the umbrella specifically needing to be included in your current outfit

• You can now adjust your piercings at the piercing shop

• Added oral acts for toys, including when solo, which can be a means of leveling your Oral skill

• Food and drink now grants small Relaxation boosts more often, though this is usually found on food that isn’t very good for you!

• Some food and drink have warming or cooling properties that can provide some slight help in normalizing your temperature for a couple hours after consuming

• Added an indicator in shops for clothing items that you already own

• Added the ability to watch encounters between two NPCs, with a couple of opportunities involving being in the dorms late at night on the weekend or upstairs during a Greek party (this is a bit experimental, so please let me know if you notice any weirdness)

• Added a new voyeuristic inclination that can be earned by watching couples be intimate

• Many fixes and tweaks

A reminder that if you participated in early access, that version will no longer be updated until the next early access period — it's time to move to the public version!
