_______________________________________________________
[3rd POV]
Her life had been a…interesting one, up until this point. Up until the point in which she had died. Death claimed her after she had done so much, grown and become so much.
She had been around for nearly forty long years. Had been in the military from the moment she had become an adult, becoming a bit of a legend within the United States military. Becoming the first woman to ever serve on Seal Team Six, the most secretive and important special team in the entirety of the US military.
She had also served in Delta Force, the most advanced group in the Army, who she had served with for a little over five years, transferring into the Navy, and then Seal Team Six.
She had been honorably discharged after a rather brutal mission had left her half dead, with her teammates not being much better than her. That had been after she had served with them for 17 years, since the moment she had turned 18 to the time she was 35.
From that moment on, she had decided to focus her time on something else. She had fought and bled for the country already, so she decided to do something else with her time.
Like learning.
She had returned to school during this time, getting a masters degree in Economics, and had gotten very very good at investing her money into companies that deserved it. So good that some people wondered if she was getting insider information or something.
She hadn’t been, she was just really damn good at investing money into the right companies.
And from that, she had made a lot of money in her last years. She donated at least 15% of it into veteran charities and to those that needed it. As she was one of the lucky ones. Sure, her mind had been fucked up from the things she had done.
But she had a strong will, and knew what she was getting into when she first began to serve in special forces.
But finally, after nearly forty years of living, she had died.
A rather underwhelming death, really, dying after saving a little girl from a criminal that was trying to rob a convenience store, saving the little girl's life, but also leading to her death.
And then she had been covered in darkness, overwhelming, all encompassing darkness.
And then…light.
A warm, gentle light, and the sounds of a woman’s voice echoing in her ears, followed by a man. She recognized them pretty quickly, as she had watched several shows after her retirement from the military, and there were few that compared to…
Yellowstone.
And with that came the realization that she had been reborn as the eldest daughter of John Dutton, older than Beth, younger than Lee. Being only a year younger than her eldest brother, and around three years older than her future little sister.
And she had been given a name, and that name was…Alexandra. Alexandra Dutton.
As she laid in the crib her new parents had placed her into, she wondered why she hadn’t seen her father in a while now. After being held by them for a short while, she saw that a doctor had come into the room with a strange expression on his face. As he seemingly told them about…something.
And her father looked at her differently the second he did.
It confused her, as she lay in her crib in what she assumed was the home of the Dutton family on their massive Yellowstone ranch. The room she was in was massive, beautiful, and damn comfy.
‘…I can’t tell if I should be concerned that my father hasn’t visited me once since we got back from the hospital’ Alexandra thought, her small baby face forming into a frown. Her mother had already visited her several times and seemingly looked sad as she held her, but nothing more than that. And it didn’t last long.
Alexandra decided to not question it, and instead focused on looking around more.
She’d realize soon why it was that her father looked at her so strangely.
And she would have wished she didn’t find out.

Alexandra Dutton knew she was different. Beyond the obvious fact that she had been reborn, and had nearly forty years of memories, which made her older than her current parents (something she preferred to not think about).
No, she knew she was different the moment she noticed that she had something…additional. Something that explained why her father looked at her so strangely, why he seemed to almost avoid her.
She had been born quite different. If she had to put a word on it, she would be deemed as a “Futanari” like they call them down in Japan in her past life.
She didn’t personally mind it too much, as she had always been lesbian in her past life. This just gave her something…new.
But, she knew pretty quickly afterwards that she was in the early 80’s now, and they weren’t exactly the most accepting back then. She remembered it from her past life, when she lived with her grandparents on their small farm, raised with cattle and horses.
But she didn’t think her father would be like that too. To look at her like she was…wrong.
Her mother didn’t. She didn’t seem to give a single damn and focused all her time on taking care of her and her older brother Lee.
She loved Lee. Her brother and her were damn near inseparable. For the first 5 years of her life, she and him were best buddies. The boy dragged her everywhere to play and explore. Even if she didn’t really want to, she still loved it. To have a brother to care for.
Some people wondered if she was really the younger of the two, as she acted a lot older than she actually was.
Especially once her little sister was born when she was three. Beth had been a fussy baby, loud, crying, and…kind of annoying to be honest. But not enough that Alexandra avoided her, and she played with the baby whenever she could.
She wanted to be close to her family, more than anything.
And she was. As the years passed, she lived on the farm, learning how to ride a horse, how to herd cattle, and how to take care of the animals that were raised there. Interacting with the ranch hands regularly, and enjoying her new life.
She wasn’t allowed to do certain things that her brother was, due to her being a girl. Which…was a one way ticket to pissing her off. She imagined it was more so due to her being of an odd birth, something that her doctors just loved to point out.
It was only because of her Ma that the doctors hadn’t started to study her like she was a damn experiment or something. As she was capable of reproduction in both ways, something they hadn’t seen before.
She was a one of a kind person.
And they loved to make sure she knew that. But she didn’t care, as she continued to grow more and more on the ranch, learning the ways of a rancher, finding that she loved it. The atmosphere, the life style, it was so…freeing.
Unlike anything she had felt in her past life. She loved the work she had done, the good (although there was bad things she had to do), and everything else she had done in the military.
She’d like to do it again at some point, but for now, she was enjoying her current life far too much.
She was ten years old at the moment, and was currently in her bedroom, studying. Her father didn’t care much about it, but Alexandra was very much into studying, and was planning on starting up her own business in the future.
Not only that, but she wanted to own her own ranch, one separate from the Yellowstone Ranch. She knew there was only one other ranch in the US that compared and that was King Ranch down in Texas.
The biggest ranch period was down in Australia, and was absolutely GIANT. As in, 5 million acres giant, which is like 6 times the size of the ranch her family has owned for generations.
It would also cost an absolute fortune to buy.
But Alexandra had to admit that it was tempting.
Either way, she planned on saving up money over the years, so that she could invest in companies that she knows for a fact will make a shit ton of money in the future. Mostly so she could then buy and invest in companies that she is actually interested in owning, as well as ranches.
It was basically just a means to an end.
Munching on her sandwich her ma had made for her, Alexandra finished her book on college level mathematics. Whatever allowed for her to reincarnate back into this universe had given her absolutely perfect memory. Like she remembered literally everything from both her past life and current life.
This meant she just needed to read a book once and then she was done with it. Something that was really damn useful considering how long it would be before anything crazy starts to happen.
‘Not having a computer is really damn annoying’ Alexandra thought with a grumble, she had lived in the 80s in her past life too, but she didn’t remember that time nearly as much as she did her later years.
And she knew that computers would be really really helpful, at the very least the internet would be. With the internet she wouldn't need physical books, and she wouldn't have to ask her ma to bring her into town to buy some.
Evelyn was a…strict woman, but Alexandra still loved her. She was a good mother, and while it was still strange to think of her as one considering she was technically younger than Alexandra, Alexandra had slowly gotten used to it.
Glancing at the time, Alexandra’s eyes widened in alarm as she got up and began to race out of the room. She forgot she had her super secret lessons with Lloyd, who had been teaching her all sorts of things about running a ranch and how to live like a ranch hand.
As she raced out of the home a few moments later, Alexandra began to make her way to where the man was waiting for her, one thought on her mind.
‘…Let’s hope the old man won’t be too pissed!’

That’s the end of the chapter!
So I honestly have no idea who to make her love interest. She’s going to be 37 by the time canon begins, so I was wondering if I should do a crossover with another show and get a love interest from there. And if so, who should I choose? Or should I do an OC?
Also, who should her Faceclaim be? I had like three options in mind, but would love to hear your guy’s opinions.
Anyways, have a good day!

I’ll be making it sooner or later, yes.

2025-11-25 06:50:05 +0000 UTCAre you still planning to do an Alex modern family vault fic? The latest aracnarch daughter of god chapter mentioned it in the endnotes. Or is that getting folded into singer? Or did the muse for writing it leave?
