Chapter 77: Chunin Exams VIII

[3rd POV]

Watching as Naruto won the fight, Wanda smiled, beginning to clap for her son, as Milim grinned and joined in. Wanda was proud of his showing, and while it wasn’t perfect, it was better than anyone could have ever expected.

Enough that it was almost guaranteed that he would become a Chunin after this. As with a showing like that, not even the council could block Hiruzen from making the boy into a chunin. But, the real question was if the man would do it in the first place.

Afterall, he wanted to keep Naruto under control, that much was obvious to Wanda. And making him a chunin would make it harder to control him.

After the medics lifted Neji off in order to heal him, Naruto jumped up onto the stands, walking to Wanda with a bright grin on his face.

“Did I do good, Mama? Did I, Did I?” Naruto asked, eyes sparkling as the others in his generation all blinked several times at the word Mama. None of them had ever seen this woman besides Sakura.

The only person that Naruto should ever be calling that, was Kushina. And she was dead, this woman was not Kushina, but Wanda, a simple bookstore owner. And now that he was calling her that…it meant that something had changed, and they would need to report this to the Hokage, immediately.

Wanda glanced at the Jonin who were already preparing to go and report this to the Hokage, and just let out a small chuckle, finding it amusing. They wouldn't be able to stop her or anything, and they were not going to take her son from her so it wasn’t going to matter at all.

So instead, she focused back on her son.

“Yes, hon, you did great. There were a couple of things that you could have definitely done better, but you still did much better than what anyone could have expected” Wanda said with a smile, patting her son's head as he grinned.

After saying these words, Ino couldn't stop herself from walking over and asking the question that was on her mind.

“Naruto, who’s this?” Ino asked, her inner gossip not allowing her to not know who this was.

“Hmm? Oh, this is my Mama, Wanda! She’s not my birth mother or anything, but she’s taken me in, so basically the same thing. She’s been teaching me all sorts of awesome techniques, and is the reason why I beat up that teme!” Naruto grinned, as Wanda gave the girl a small wave.

Milim gave Naruto a glare at the fact that she wasn’t even mentioned, causing him to flinch before continuing “Oh, and this is my big sis, Milim! She also helped me train, and is super strong! But not as strong as Mama”

“Uh, nice to meet you?” Ino said, not really sure what to say as she gazed at the pink haired girl that looked like she was even younger than they were.

“Nice to meet ya! Are you Naruto’s friend?” Milim asked, staring at the girl. She was…laughably weak, to a truly pitiful level, even worse than Sakura, and that was saying…quite a lot, really.

Ino was basically just a normal girl, not like a shinobi. It was just her Yamanaka techniques that made her different, without them? She’d be nothing more than a weak child.

She needed serious training, and fast.

“Um, yes. I’m Ino Yamanaka, it’s nice to meet you” Ino greeted, as Milim gave her a simple nod, before looking back to the arena, as another match began. It wasn’t one that either her or Wanda cared about, so they both decided to just ignore it.

”So, Ino, what’re you doing over here?” Wanda asked, as Ino looked at her.

“I was just wondering who you were. Well, all of us were I think. Cause I’ve never seen you before, and I was just curious. How did you and Naruto meet?” Ino asked, curious.

“I went to her bookstore that’s just out of town!” Naruto replied, as Ino looked at him in confusion.

“Bookstore out of town? I didn’t realize there was a bookstore out of town” Ino responded, confused about what he was talking about.

“Hmm? Yeah it’s only a few minutes away! And it’s huge too! With hundreds of books and scrolls! It’s thanks to them that I learned about my clan, and started getting super strong” Naruto replied, answering the question that was on her mind.

“Is it still open? Can anyone go and shop there?” Ino asked.

“Of course. I sell my wares to anyone, as long as they follow my rules” Wanda said with a nod.

“What sort of rules?” A voice echoed, as Wanda glanced at the one speaking, this being Kurenai.

“Simple. Within my shop, there is not to be any fighting. Regardless of past experiences or who they are. It’s a neutral ground, so I could have an S ranked missing nin walk in, and they are not to be touched while inside” Wanda replied, causing Kurenai to frown.

“You cannot make such a rule, not for a mere bookstore. Nobody can make such a rule” Kurenai said, as Wanda snorted.

“I can, and I did. And maybe before cutting into a lovely conversation I was having with this young lady, you introduce yourself” Wanda said, growing a little irritated with this woman.

“Jonin Kurenai Yuhi. And maybe you should show me the respect I deserve, as a Jonin of this village” Kurenai said coldly, as Wanda fought back a laugh at this womans nerve.

While Milim showed a dark scowl, ready to get to her feet and tear the woman apart. And even Naruto had a frown on his face.

“Hey! Leave my Mama alone! She didn’t do anything wrong! And she’s way stronger than some nobody like you! Not even the old man could touch a hair on my sis’s head, much less my Mama’s!” Naruto said a scowl on his face as he yelled at Kurenai.

“Please, they are civilians, Naruto. I could easily handle the both of them at the same time. Now, apologize for the disrespect you have just shown me, boy” Kurenai said, glaring at him as Wanda sighed.

“Go ahead love, don’t hurt her though, just make her understand that I could care less for her opinion on me” Wanda said with a sigh, as Milim grinned, and as Kurenai was about to say something, Milim reappeared in front of her.

With a single flick against Kurenai’s forehead, the woman's eyes rolled to the back of her head, and she was knocked into instant unconsciousness.

“What the-“ Asuma said as he was preparing to attack Milim, only for Wanda to glance at the man, his body freezing as if he was stopped in time.

“How about we stop this little conflict here, hmm? I’d hate for anyone to do something stupid, over an arrogant woman’s ignorant words” Wanda said, a smile on her face as Hiruzen, who had been watching this entire situation, spoke up.

“Agreed. Let’s stop this before it escalates. I apologize for the actions of my subordinate, Miss Maximoff” Hiruzen said with a dark look on his face, as while he could not sense her power, he could tell the second Milim moved, that she was far beyond any mere Jonin.

He wasn’t even able to sense the depth of Milim’s power, and that alone was terrifying. But this woman was stronger than Milim? It was best they didn’t cause issues with her, even if Naruto was now a part of her family.

“It’s quite alright, she didn’t know any better. I just hope from now on your Jonin’s won’t act like this, and your little spies will stop trying to tail my son and I” Wanda said as Hiruzen’s eyes widened ever so slightly, before nodding.

“As you wish” He spoke, before heading back to his seat.

He could already tell the council would kick up a fuss, but this woman…she wasn’t something he could touch, not with Milim there. Not with the power she held in her hands.

With the tense situation finished, they continued on the Chunin exams. With most of the fights going almost exactly the same as in canon. So…they were kinda boring for Wanda and Milim, while Naruto cheered on his friends and grumbled when some of them lost.

But eventually, it was time for the final and most important fight. The one that would start the invasion of Konoha. The battle between Sasuke and Gaara.

And as Sasuke finally appeared in the stadium after being late several times now, Wanda had one thought on her mind.

‘…This’ll be interesting’

That’s the end of the chapter!

This little arc will be finishing in around 3 chapters or so. And once that happens, we’ll get back to the bookstore goodness!

We’ll also be getting some showings of her clones that are still in Game of Thrones and Harry Potter soon.

This’ll probably be the last upload today, not sure. If I do do a vault chapter, I have two ideas in mind.

One that involves an MC reborn with the power of the…Shadow Monarch. Starting out in Wednesday (her power will be limited to just the taking/arise and all that). And of course our favorite Goth will be the love interest.

The other is an MC reborn as Freya Mikaelson with a Gamer system. Love interest would probably be Bonnie. Not sure.
