Words Censoring
Added 2022-11-22 01:33:27 +0000 UTCIn the next release, I’d like to allow users to enter words that they don’t like or find offensive, and program a way to censor them automatically in online chatrooms. War veterans, victim of rapes or others could censor words that bring back painful memories. Regular bad words like “nigger” or “shit” could be censored automatically as well.
I’m thinking about doing 3 censorship levels. The first level would censor the word only, maybe putting stars instead of it. The second level would censor the whole phrase. The third one would skip the phrase entirely, so you would never know something was censored. Censoring will only affect the individual that wish to be censored, everyone else will see the censored content.
What do you think? Is there more I could do to help to censor offensive words? Thanks a lot!

It probably won't be perfect in the first version, but we can refine the system later on to make it more interlligent.

2022-12-06 04:56:30 +0000 UTCI just thought of something that might go wrong with this since it's already a problem with the room auto-BL feature: Banning the word "rape" also bans "grape" or any word that that has those four letters in that order even if that is only part of the word, another example: Banning "irl" also bans "girl" which is annoying since RL play is one of the few things I have absolutely no interest in.
