I legit disliked Sydney when I first watched this episode. I must be watching a different show

worked in restaurants for 20 years. marcus is the worst character i've ever seen on TV (in this episode). Sense of urgency...it's go time...shit is coming off the rails and he literally doesn't care 'cause doughnuts. honestly, why is he fucking with carmy? make the fucking cake. cut the cake. you're hurting your employer, your coworkers, and your job because doughnuts. get to work.

Calling me tone deaf is a bit rude. I still think it was intentional. IDK what GOT has to do with anything my opinion is based on details we have intentionally been given about Syd. I think it was well intentioned on her part and she definitely didnt expect it to blow up like it did. But we can agree to disagree :)

This reads as very tone deaf. I believe shows like GoT with all the prophecies and innuendos have ruined people's perception of natural, run-of-the-mill, conspiracy-free character flaws. The show is very face-value, Syd worked hard on it, and she just did not want it to go to waste. She has never been portrayed as underhanded - ambitious and pushy, sure - but never deceitful. This was coincidental.

House Powers

This was the shortest and most intense episode I’ve seen. I felt so bad for Marcus.

Yeah its really good, its got a perfect blend of comedy and truly heart touching moments. Before i watched it i thought it was just gonna be a goofy comedy, but its really not its got alot of heart to it and deals with alot of real life problems.

Ive heard so many good things about Ted Lasso

Also I feel like Syd knew he was a food critic when she gave him the food. She is a food nerd, shes very tuned into the food industry. Shes impatient as Carmy said and she has been super interested in improving the restaurant since the beginning. She had an extra plate waiting on the shelf in the shot where Carmy tastes it. Why would she give it to a random customer instead of having it for Family like they did with Marcus's cake. I think she gave it to him because she knew who he was and she knew it was really good food and she hoped it would 1. help the restaurant and 2. show Camry its ready to be on the menu.

One of my favorite episodes of TV history. The acting and blocking throughout the whole episode is soooooooo good. I love a good one shot and this one is so good you dont even notice until half way through it that it is one. I think that shows how well shot it is. It doesnt feel unnatural it just feels like we are IN the kitchen struggling with them. its nice to see you guys see Syds POV here, a lot of reactors hate on her for how she acts in this ep. Carmy has been mishandling things for multiple episodes, he has had to apologize to Syd more than once for how he acts, she has been fixing other peoples problems and saving the day with very little gratitude and she finally got fed up. A detail I like is a few epsiodes back Syd talked about how she got too big too fast with her catering company and it burned her, and then history repeats itself this episode with them getting more orders than they can handle. There is a food critic I follow on tiktok and when he gives a place a really good review they go from having regular turn around to having a line around the block. I've seen him warn places because he's going to give them a good review and doesnt want them blindsided by the increase in orders.

Yes to Ted Lasso. Amazing show!

Thats the beauty of reacting to this show, the episodes are so short you can get through the show quick. Thats why something like Ted Lasso would also be amazing to react to since its episodes are short like that. Also you picked the perfect time to start reacting to this show since season 3 drops towards the end of this month, so you can jump right into season 3 soon as you finish season 2.

SAMCRO_89

The correct thing to do. Try to tackle so much was impossible with the shortages they had and the lack of staff.

House Powers

Yeah, an old restaurant where I was first becoming a chef. Just started online orders and they didn't set it up correctly and when we turned it on our half we had something like 300 orders in the first 10mins. We just turned it off and canceled everyone's orders.

ZitherManifesto

Yeah I think that's what I read somewhere too.

TDWanders

Yes! it was an 18 minute one take! the only "breaks" were the spots for Hulu ads (black screen in Hulu premium)
