Hey peeps!

Since there won't be any comic pages while I'm wrapping up the mature sheep comic, I went through my achieves and dug out this old tutorial I made back in 2020. Covid was raging and everyone at school was sent home to work from there. I remember sitting on a bed at my sweethearts place while I made this.

Anyway, I've been wanting to share this tutorial for a while now. Something I always notice when reading comics (especially from the furry fandom) is the lack of love for backgrounds... I get it, characters are much more fun to draw, especially for beginner artists but if you decide to make a comic with them and those comics aren't just simple gag of the day? Please, give some love to those backgrounds.

For me it can really ruin a story if the characters look like a million dollars but the backgrounds are just huge empty rooms... And i would so love to help people find the FUN in doing backgrounds! Because it actually can be!

This is what this comic tutorial is about. There's 3 pages so hopefully it'll end the same time the mature sheep illustrations are done. After that I'll take my summerbreak and cook up the next new comic idea for y'all.

I hope you'll find this tutorial helpful, fun or even inspiring!

Thank for sharing this! Working on my backgrounds is something I've been pushing myself to improve on in the past couple of years, but this page has inspired me to try practicing with some more challenging backgrounds in some of my upcoming projects!
