Simbro resErection Update (2022-11-02)

Hey Folks!

Sorry for the 2-week silence. Irl has been... eventful. Between dealing with my current employer owing me money and a pay raise, along with taking my mother to her cancer treatments, it's been rough. Enough of that stuff. Time for the update!

I've uploaded a video showing the intro of the game! I was having trouble with the text engine's word-wrapping system, but I have figured it out. You can also see the male character now has an idle animation! This is huge as it means the male character is now rigged and ready for more animations. You can also see a new hud element that shows health, stamina, time, and other things. Later in the video, you'll see a new background that was made by our new artist Mamacita. She's definitely captured the original reception area of the old game while making it blend with the new character art.

So what are we working on now? Well, currently, our character artist is working on male clothes and hair for customization, Mamacita is working on more backgrounds, and I'm working on coding and doing the "other" animated scenes.

I want to apologize for not having something playable yet, but I'm just not comfortable releasing anything yet. I only have one chance to make a good impression with this game. With people (outside of here) being so quick to judge, I want to make sure I've done everything I can before an alpha is released.

Despite the last couple of weeks, I'm still as motivated as ever to get this game made. Honestly, I'm tired of working for employers that try to squeeze you for everything you have. I know it's going to take time for this game to earn enough money for me to quit my IRL job and do this full-time, but I'm not discouraged. With my eagerness to be my own boss and your support, I know this dream will become reality soon.

Thank you for sticking around despite my brief absence. Your support is the driving force behind this game and it makes a world of difference.

That's a great question! Once the basic animations are done it becomes much easier to add content. The way our animation works is with a 2d rig or 2d skeleton. We tell the bones of the skeleton two things, how to move and what image is attached to it. So once the animation is done (the instructions on how the bone should move) all we have left is assigning an image. Now, things are a bit more complex then that but in the end it will be much easier. When it comes to things like adding events/story things become a little more complicated. Although we make tools to make the things easier, it still has a lot more work behind the scene.

I have one more question as I don't know anything about game development. Once you are done with the basic animations etc, will it be easier and faster to add more girls and content to the game? Or does it all need unique developments?

This is looking awesome so far! I am really excited to see you guys progress and improve on the "original". Would love to see you being able to focus on this fulltime, and I hope enough people are wanting to pledge after a first demon/release etc. Best of luck!
