The Zetsu Mail [August 2023 Edition]

Henlo! Welcome to the 6th edition of the monthly mail that delivers no gay content whatsoever...definitely....

It's August (my birth month hehe) and life has been beginning to move around me once again. College paperwork, moving preparations, and tons of projects behind the curtain waiting to be revealed. The period of time from August to October is my favorite time of year for...well, no particular reason, probably due to many standout memories from my past that took place in that timeframe.

And with great change, comes....great change.

I mean this in the context of my YouTube channel and this Patreon. Changes that will undoubtedly impact my livelihood and this line of work. No lie, I'm a little nervous.

Now hold on a minute, this will not impact you, my lovely patrons. In fact, overall I think this place is going to see some improvements! But on the YouTube side....well, not so much.

I've been thinking about ceasing NSFW content on my YouTube channel. This means that only on YouTube, there will be no previews or snippets of my NSFW works. Over here though, I'll still be posting NSFW. This means that Patreon will be the ONLY place you can listen to my NSFW content.

...okay, I'm exaggerating a little. I will be posting little snippets of these audios onto my Twitter (link in my bio if you're interested). However, the actual juicy content will basically be paywalled.

Alright, big deal. Why am I thinking about this?

If you've been following me for the past few months, you'll surely be aware of my steadily declining brain juice when it comes to making these audios. I felt that the formula was getting stale and all of my attempts to remedy the situation were only temporary. I gave it more thought for the past few days and I think I've pinpointed the exact reason: I had to always work around YouTube's content guidelines.

This meant that I couldn't continue posting full NSFW content on the channel like I used to when I first began uploading. This meant that I had to establish this very Patreon to host those audios in the first place. This meant that I had to somehow split the same content to YouTube and Patreon. And what that resulted in was the "preamble + spice" formula where I'd establish the scenario and characters in the first 10 minutes of audio, then backload the end with the lewd developments. Honestly, I'm really tired of doing that.

Restraining myself to make these hybrid audios really killed my enthusiasm for creating audios. That's the truth.

I still really enjoy making audios. I love making NSFW content, and I love making SFW content, but because I literally CAN'T make SFW content without compromising the identity of the channel, I felt pressured to exclusively post NSFW.

So, here's the tea: YouTube will exclusively get SFW audios. Patreon will exclusively get NSFW audios. Twitter will have NSFW previews alongside my usual femboy-posting ramblings.

I'm not going to sugarcoat it. This does mean that pretty much all of my NSFW will be paywalled. If you're here to help support the channel but aren't ready to commit to long term subscriptions, yeah, next time you want to listen to these you do have to chuck a few dollars. That's the unfortunate reality of this decision, and I'm deeply sorry. This also means that traffic towards my YouTube channel will pretty much be fucked up for a while because I have 10,000 people tuning in to my free spicy audios....and there'll be no more of it. As a side effect, less people will know about my Patreon's content, meaning my average patrons per month will be reduced too.

The changes to both the YouTube and Patreon is going to be very tough to deal with, and no doubt I'll see a decrease in everything from stats to finances. However, I think for my own sanity this is the way to go in the long term. I get to create SFW content like I used to a couple years ago, and ALSO create NSFW content like I've been doing for the past year. This does mean double the workload, so there may be slight changes to scheduling, but who knows.

So how will this affect you? After all, this does seem like a change geared more towards the YouTube side of things, why am I telling you here? Well, remember how I said these changes will be more of a benefit to you guys? That's because I can pretty much go all-out with the audios without worrying about appealing to YouTube's guidelines anymore. If I go through with these changes, I'll make a follow-up post about how the tiers are going to feature different rewards, but don't worry, there will be no price changes. The last thing I want to do is gobble up your wallet.

So there's that! I have lots more to say, but I'll save those for the eventual update video that I'm going to have to make to explain this massive change. It'll be posted on YouTube sometime this month, so look out for that. Otherwise, nothing's changing until at least next month. So look forward to the regularly scheduled content in August!

Oh right, there's still one more thing to announce...it's this month's theme: summer! Heheh, I wasn't going to go a year without summer audios.
