Liches are the most vile creatures. Mages who in their quest for power defile the very laws of nature and divine. They must be destroyed by any means necessary.
But in our crusade for justice and purity sometimes we must make fringe decisions and hard choices. One such example was presented to me by The Keeper.
In my hunt for The Bellgust Reaper I found myself in an ancient underground grove. My senses were overwhelmed by the aura of undeath. I was prepared to fight and, since I was alone, to die. However when I found the source of this aura I was taken back. The Keeper, as he called himself, was a creature of pure serenity. My mind was screaming for me to attack this fruit of dark magic, but I felt no malice and I knew the same was true for him.
After the shock passed The Keeper offered me tea. He told me his story. The lichdom wasn't his choice. It was his duty. The only way to protect the grove. Every tree, every blade of grass here was imbued with the souls of his brethren. He was the last of the Deeproot Elves.
That day I broke my oath. I left the grove and its keeper. There was no evil, just a man and his endless wake.
Hammer of Dawn - Richard Stillheart
Our small collective proudly presents our first dungeon — with a Elven Lich rooted in the middle of it. The first small chamber on the way is the library, the one on the right at the dead end is a wooden cage full of bats, and the centrepiece (being the Liches study, of sorts) is in the elevated chamber with a ladder on the right side. Enjoy!
