Mitsu is the only "pet" type character we currently have planned, but it's also super smart. What kinds of pets would you want to see?
Q) Theoretically in a Battle Royale between Caly, Vas, Haar and Jens; who would win?
Candiru: Mitsu
Carrie: Jens, on the Batman principle.
Q) So you know what I like in RPGs is FIGHTING >( so my question is if you've done any thinking on interesting things to do with combats since the Patreon demo?
Candiru: Right now some of our ideas are:
Random battlefields, broken tiles, enemies that can cross larger distances, enemies that can split or merge, environmental effects and so on, we want that every battle feels like its own unique thing.
Q) Maybe Vas will get a pet too?
Carrie: Do you really trust Vas with another life?
Q) Is there a possibility that many sentences are synchronized?
Carrie: We'd love that!
Q) If you're going for multiple characters being voice can there be an option to turn of the voices for certain characters, ie. toggle specific characters or only a single 'voice volume' setting?
Candiru: If there are multiple characters that are voiced, every single one will have their own slider and settings.
Q) When can we expect a Mitsu plushy?
Candiru: In the far far future, **maybe**
Q) Will mitsu be an enemy at a later part of the story?
Carrie: Hmm, probably not. Would it make you sad?
Q) I got this weird feeling that Vas is actually flustered when she met Mitsu. Like she is really trying hard not to show her attraction towards it like Caly did. Even on the ship, she refuses to make eye contact with it and just wants to gun for the exit after remarking that Mitsu is kinda cute. Is it possible that she actually has a genuine caring side?
Carrie: Good eye, Loner! Mitsu has exceptionally strong empathy powers and Vas is not used to suddenly feeling strong affection. If she has a caring side, she doesn't like to show it.
Q) Are there plans for including supporter's opinions on gameplay related aspects for the future, possibly through community polls? Or are those only for non-game related fanservice?
Candiru: There are plans for supporter only polls that will be about gameplay.
Q) Will we get more background of the crew members and Vas?
Carrie: You'll have the option to learn plenty about Haar and definitely some more about Vas. Haar doesn't like to talk about Jens's background, but who knows..?
Q) Will we get to see more planets and races?
Carrie: Yes, absolutely!
Q) Are there any ideas that caly will visit a planet which is only populated by robots?
Carrie: We've already explored a robot-populated planet, so we don't currently plan to have another robot-focused planet. But that doesn't necessarily mean we're done with robots altogether!
Q) Are there any ideas about the creators of Jens?
Carrie: Jens was created in a corporate lab. :)
Q) How exactly do you design some of the settings, Carrie. Do you sometimes try to reference RL things or from other fictious franchises or have an other source of inspirations for some of the twists that make it into the game.
Carrie: Oh, jeez. Well, Henosis and some of the details for Tripteen were already established by the time I joined the project, so I didn't have to do that much concepting there. I just took what I had and built on it.
Otherwise, Candiru might say something like 'I want a planet that has X, Y, and Z gameplay characteristics. And I'll think about what an interesting planet with those features might be and sorta go from there. Recently, I got some inspiration from some YouTube videos I watched about abandoned places.
Q) Are you having some characters in mind you want to try to include into voidbound Carrie?
Carrie: Definitely! The next update will introduce a character I'm pretty excited about. Her initials are H I. I also have an alien queen to show off.
Q) Candiru, are there any plans for further puzzle mechanics aside from the ones already seen in the dungeon? If so, care to detail?
Candiru: Yes. That will depend on the area the puzzle plays in. But some will be more integrated into the interactive background or even have their own system outside of your classic RPG Maker puzzle setup.
Q) Carrie, will there be multiple endings?
Carrie: Yes and no. We're building some avoidable bad ends into the game where Caly falls into some typical H-story troubles, but there's only one main ending planned.
Q) Can we expect some/more patrician taste fetish aka yuri and futa?
Carrie: In short, yes. At length, definitely.
Q) Actually I have a question along those lines as well, is Caly going to have the option for any consensual scenes or is she merely doomed to live in interesting and lewd times?
Carrie: Consensual scenes are definitely going to be an option for Caly, especially as she learn to adapt to her heightened sexiness in the universe.
Q) Candiru and Carrie (whoever answers first gets the most points from me), will game overs have any negative effects aside from having to restart? Like debuffs being applied, devices being applied, permanent damage, permanent personality changes, ...?
Candiru: Undecided, we haven't thought about that yet.
Q) Candiru, will there be different equipable outfits, probably mainly just for the ship or Henosis? (Yes/No allowed)
Candiru: Yes, however you will only be able to have combat with the suit.
Q) Will the game later has a brothel where caly can kinda work? and if there is a place like that is there a chance caly will take over the business?
Carrie: Yes, there will be a brothel setting somewhere down the line, and yes Caly will have the option to work there. As for anything else... we'll have to see, won't we?
Q) Obvious followup, can you make Caly go around nude because her player has demanded that she become a depraved pervert?
Candiru: Undecided, but the chance are there for sure.
Q) Is there a chance that caly will fight on the ship or henosis? like she gets attacked by thugs or something like that
Carrie: Right now, we don't have plans for Caly to fight on Setek, Haar's ship, but Henosis is a big, bustling place. I'm sure she could get into some trouble there...
Q) Will there be sections where you assume control of another character for certain passages, even doing battles?
Candiru: Possible for certain passages, however not for combat.
Q) Is there a possiblity that vas becomes an enemy during the story or during special events?
Carrie: Define "enemy" >:)
Q) Do you need to shoot her using the combat system? we have a real fight against vas and she behaves there kinda antagonistic.
Carrie: Let's just say that Vas isn't fully sold on the idea of Caly going around adventuring in weird places with Vas's favorite pilot.
Q) Carrie, how far will the events of the story impact our characters? To me it seems like VoidBound is kind of staying on the lighthearted side, so where will the line be drawn?
Carrie: A story with no impact, no stakes, isn't very interesting, but it's not our intention to really delve deep into the effects of trauma, either. Where the line will be drawn is always going to be a careful balance between having real stakes and consequences and staying fun.
Q) Plans for some sort of Chibi slapstick humor like in some other games?
Candiru: We didn't think of something like that yet, but I don't see why not, as long as it fits.
Q) Will we get more female characters in the game later?
Carrie: Nah, probably not. Just kidding. Of course there will be more space babes!
Q) How many hours of playtime will you estimate the final product encompass, taking into account you're an autist like me doing a 100 % run?
Candiru : Hard question, as it's still rather early in development, however if I would make a guess, I would say between 8-13h, but this is just guessing.
Q) How much side content will there be?
Candiru: It depends how you define side content. If you are talking about side quests, minor objectives and exploration, yes.
Q) Is there a lot of NPC’s to talk to and stuff? Lots of side stuff that makes the world feel alive?
Candiru: Yes, there will be many NPCs you will be able to interact with. And there will be points of interest and so on.
Q) Will we get npcs who are kinda related towards the story?
Carrie: Yep, yep. You've already got Mitsu, but we'll see more!
Q) Ravioli Ravioli, or rather not?
Carrie: If that's your thing, I hope to put some content in that's to your tastes, but since we plan to put the game on Steam eventually, we need to be careful about those kinds of designs.
Q) Candiru, will there be a cover system during combat? Like in XCOM, for example if you're in high cover you get a 70 % chance of your enemies missing shots and whatnot. Furthermore destructible cover, types of cover, etc.
Candiru: Yes.
Q) Candiru, is DLC a route you've made a decision on yet? If so, what decision?
Candiru: Undecided.
Q) Will there be physical merchandise for the game outside of the doujin ofc?
Candiru: That will depend on the support and how well this project will be doing.
Q) Is the game based on true story? :p
Candiru: Totally :P
Carrie: Yes, Mitsu is loosely based on my cat, Alexander.
Q) Both Candiru and Carrie, what are your biggest sources of inspiration for VoidBound?
Candiru: Mass Effect, Cyberpunk, Dred, Alien etc.
Carrie: My biggest inspiration is the massive porno repository in my brain. I've read a lot, a lot, a lot of erotic manga, so I try to think about things I've never seen before, or things I've rarely seen. My second biggest source of inspiration is the real world!
Q) Do you plan to put the company staff as characters as well down the line? For example, maybe a Candiru-chan screaming in front of a burning house while Dullahan laughs pyro maniacally?
Q) Who made the emotes btw? They’re v cute
Candiru: Doppel.
Q) Will there be missable events, and could you give some examples on how they might be missable? (Stats too low, time passing, negligence, ...)
Carrie: There are already missable events! Right now, you can miss them by not losing fights, or by not fully exploring the world.
Q) Any plans to add a gallery? If so will this also feature scenes that only occur during battle?
Candiru: There is already a gallery. The battle stuff is not in there yet, but it will be there soon.

Sadly, that was not answered. Then again it was asked by one of our staff members and all he got was a verbal kick in the backside for his troubles XD Either way, he says he will not relent and continue bringing it up in the future Q/As until an answer is given!
