Frog Week: Day 5, Champion Battler

Ribbit! It's the final day of this summer's special event week!

Here's the plan: this we have a new release every day with some new sprites as we build out the characters for the Frog Tribe. Like the previous beast tribes, the frogfolk will be a full set of eight unique NPC characters plus a unique champion character.

Today's Friday, and that means it's the last day of Frog Week; and we're completing the series with the SV battler for the champion character.

The champion is the frogmother, a sort of swamp witch or shaman. I wanted to make her the champion because she provides a unique archetype among the animated beast tribe champions-- there's a lot of warriors and rogues, so the swamp-witch would be a different angle for a playable character or even a boss enemy.

In her battler, she has a crooked knife as her primary weapon and her ranged weapon is a blowgun. I thought the blow-dart would fit her design more than the traditional bow-- maybe she can use a variety of poison-tipped darts and inflicts different status effects. I hope it makes her a memorable and unique character for your game project!

The original character sprite is one that I've released before. I'm sharing the links again for the sake of completion. The new release for today is the SV battler, links below:

That's it for today!

I plan to compile all of these frogs, plus the rats and insects, into a Beast Tribes 2 pack and release that this weekend as a new bonus pack for patrons. It's all content that I've already released for patrons, so the pack will be a themed compilation for the sake of convenience-- but you can look forward to seeing that soon.

After that, I'll be back next week and we'll resume our regular schedule of patron releases.
