Time Fantasy Remastered Cliffs

Hello! Let's get going with today's release :)

Oof-- I said I wasn't gonna do it! But this is what I was working on throughout my holiday break, and I've finally gotten them into something that we can work with. This set builds off of the idea that we first explored with these tiles, which I showed off just before the holidays.

Here are the downloads.

They're arranged in a format so that you can immediately test them out in RPG Maker (as well as a 100% size version for if you want to cut or re-organize them for your own use).

RPGMaker:

I spent a LOT of time fighting with RPGMaker's autotile restrictions, trying to get everything to fit nicely-- ultimately I couldn't fit the cliffs themselves into the autotiles; so I decided that the best way to do this is to simply use the cliffs on B-layer sheets (which have plenty of space and flexibility).

The autotiles on the tileA2 sheet therefore are designed to create the border for any terrain that can go on inside (on top of) these cliffs.

The above preview image was made with RPG Maker. Shift-clicking still needs to be used for some of the terrain stuff, but I did my best to structure the tiles such that working with the cliffs shouldn't require you to remap much.

I hope that makes sense.

Updated Rock Wall Texture

As I was drawing and redrawing the different tile-connection patterns and sizes for this project; I ended up reworking pretty much the entire texture of the cliff rocks.

So that's when I decided to just embrace that I was remastering these cliffs instead of just making more and more add-ons. 🤣

I really like how it came out. You can likely expect to see Elements-colored versions for all of these when the set is more complete.

So I've redone the stairs and some cave openings too. All together these should provide a good starting point for this set...

These are certainly not complete-- note that there's plenty of room on the tileset left; even if we devote a full half-column of the sheet for each color variant.

Please let me know if you find any tiles missing as you use this set; and if you are going to rework these into any existing tiles, let me know if there's any specific tiles that would be important for me to add to these.

This week I'm going to be doing a big cleanup my office and work area (new year's resolution) and that's going to include my PC which I want to clean out the insides and upgrade.

I'm just making a note here because if I blow up my computer or something then it'll hit my productivity for this week's Friday release-- but I still have my laptop if I need a backup for any reason, so I can still post and reply and such.

I don't really anticipate any problems. I plan to be back later in the week with something new-- either something from the request thread, or if you find anything to add to these cliffs that's worthy of a release.
