Face Avatar (Face Preview??)
Added 2018-06-21 13:48:30 +0000 UTCHello! Here's something different today.

There was an activity this week on Twitter, run by the Pixel Dailies account. It's a yearbook face activity, where hundreds of pixel artists created their own self-portrait in a black and white style.
I want to share my progress with you! Since I took some snapshots along the way, I compiled them into a animated .gif that shows the progress of the portrait:

(And props to my pals in the Pixelation discord for helping me with feedback on this one!)
Here is my finished piece:

This black and white (grayscale) submission to the yearbook follows the palette restrictions, but later I would add colors to it to use as my new avatar on twitter.
Anyway-- the major reason that I shared this with you is because I think it gives a good idea what I would like to do for any potential Time Fantasy faces collection!
This particular piece took me most of the day to work on (at the detriment of my plans to work on the animation set LOL-- I'll have to put extra time into those this weekend!)-- so you can imagine that a whole set of faces in this sort of style would be a major time investment.
Still, I think this style would look much nicer than my previous experiment.
Let me know what you think.
I'll be back after the weekend with some more graphics for you.
Thanks!

I like the new faces best. They remind me of the SNES / early DOS game feedback faces where a pop with them appearing to talk and text would be attached. I think the main thing here is to have an idle animation, a generic talking animation, a pain animation, a power up (flashing light) animation, and a death animation. That would make them versatile for use with the current sets and separately for SV battles, etc.

2018-06-22 22:54:04 +0000 UTCI will say this. This one does look a lot more detailed. I think it taking a whole day though, might be too much work?? I dunno. I think its hard to compare when your other faces are sitting right next to there time fantasy sprites kind of matching in style and this one isn't with a time fantasy sprite. Whatever you decide to do I will be good with. Just commissioning one of these would be kind of expensive no? *Edit I have also placed the old faces into an mv game and there is some noticeable difference with the details from the new face and the old faces. So I guess it would be nice to maybe see the first time fantasy collection face in the new style to compare better. (The first face in the old ones.)
