Phonetics Lesson Updates!
Added 2021-09-05 11:48:38 +0000 UTCGood evening, Patrons!
I hope that you're all doing well. I just wanted to let everyone know that I've updated the next two videos in the pronunciation sub-series with high quality native recordings. These two lessons cover what are probably some of the harder sounds for native English speakers: the 'R' sounds. Lesson 51 covers the basics, and lesson 52 covers some common 'r' variants, as well as common issues speakers have with this sound.
Lesson 51
Lesson 52
As usual, I also make some minor edits to each lesson in order to improve timing and clarity—I think the only thing worth explicitly mentioning here is that I removed a small bit from lesson 51 during the section on the 'R' sounds after ん in order to make this portion of the lesson more focused.
If anyone has any questions or concerns with regards to this post, please don't hesitate to leave a comment. Thank you very much for the continued support, and good luck with your Japanese studies!

I've been struggling with saying えんりょ as in ご遠慮なく。I've seen your videos about ん followed by R sounds but RY is a bit more tricky. Have you gone into this in any videos? If not, could you give me some tips? I've been at this for several decades so I'm out of excuses to not be able to say it right. :)
