TBH I kind of agree, I think her style works well for a LOT of the music she does, but she sticks out here. I also think she just looks ridiculous in the video; she's obviously super hot, but she just looks like she's trying too hard to Be Sexy, and being juxtaposed with Megan Thee Stallion it makes it worse

I was just thinking about this song the other day and came to the conclusion that the reason this song didn’t “work” for me personally was it’s inclusion of dua lipa. She just… seems apathetic musically somehow, and she brought it with her.

I don't really get it either. I'm not the biggest Cardi fan either but she's clearly better at this whole "strip club rap" thing and has more range.

Extremely minor correction (if you even want to take any action): At the 13:08-13:10 mark, it has a bit of an awkward cut from a shot of you to another shot of you, if that makes sense. At 14:13, similar thing happens too. If this were any other YouTuber, I wouldn’t even have noticed, but your editing is always so tight & good that it stuck out. Great video. Amazing that you were able to have so much commentary on a song that is so aggressively meh / mediocre.

Ever since people started talking about Megan Thee Stallion being so damn great, I felt like I fell into bizarro world. She's a generic rapper with no real personality besides "I like fucking" and most of her biggest hits have no hooks, no melody, no good samples, just bland beats. I'm happy to see that someone else finally dislikes one of her songs as much as I do.

This is only tangentially related, but my theory for why we got that abysmal Bruno mashup at the Oscars is that that was supposed to be the opening number (hence all the academy navel gazing) but it got shoved into the middle when Beyonce signed on. IDK why else disney should get to two songs from Encanto, one of which wasn't even nominated. Interesting take about Megan and Doja. As someone who doesn't listen to top 40 radio and only interacts with pop music through this channel and twitter I never considered Doja a bigger star than Megan but that might just be my bubble.

There's also the unmentioned problem that this is just exactly Bad Habits again musically. Like, it isn't even subtle - Dua's on the same rhythm to start the hook, it's the exact same key, everything. That said, that video is... jesus christ, how did anything top Numb Little Bug for worst music video of the year thus far
