SONG vs. SONG! The first podcast!

Okay, there have been some technical slip-ups but we're up and running! The first podcast is live. (My bosses over at DigitalMusicNews.com thought the second episode was stronger with the pilot so sorry for people who voted in the Bon Jovi/Journey poll). We're still working things out so sorry if anything is shaky in here but we're finally rolling and that's the important thing. Big thanks to my co-host Dan Roth, you can follow him at @DanyOrdinary.
My high school prom theme song was a Black Eyed Peas song. Really. As for either of these songs I came across Good Riddance one in an elementary school music class and Wonderwall once in a high school art class.

Don't Look Back In Anger is definitely my favorite Oasis song, though Champagne Supernova definitely evokes a lot of nostalgia. Surprised you guys didn't mention U2 as an 80s band having hits for several decades. And, sadly, Green Day are not really straight edge. Billie Joe ended up in rehab a few years back (I remember him telling a story at one concert I went to which involved him tripping on something).

This was really fun to listen to. I liked how much you made each other laugh.

If every single copy of every song Oasis ever made was going into an incinerator, and all I had to do was press a button to save them, I wouldn't. Forgive the rage... growing up in the 90's and HATING Oasis was a profoundly painful experience.

Only for the UK though. Oasis' place in the UK's music history is very different than in America.

11:30.... Ummm... "Don't look back in anger" was massive again just last year...

First off. Green Day sucks. Secondly, "Definitely Maybe" is Oasis's best album.

Thus far this was the hardest song vs song to choose between, I think they’re both good catchy songs, I just like the inherent gloom and sarcasm of good riddance a bit more. I really enjoyed this episode, it was a great listen and both songs are ubiquitous so it was a fun discussion. I think I’m closer to Todd’s age by a bit but I do agree with Dan on a lot of his points about Wonderwall I feel like Ive heard it so many times and it does start to sound whiny. It’s still hard to choose between them, and you guys made good points for both. Really looking forward to future episodes!

Cool podcast but a little too cordial. You guys should fight harder for your positions even if you're sort of playing it up in order to do so.

Great start Todd (and Dan)! There is room for improvement obviously but I really enjoyed your banter.
Can I recommend trying to explain your choice a little better... I get that those are not the best songs to explain why because they are facts of life as you mentioned, but it's the main draw (for me at least) for this podcast, hearing your interesting opinions....
p.s. Hitchin a Ride is one of my all time favorite songs so i'm not a good judge of quality...

Now we have a reason to wake up before September ends. Thanks Todd for a good podcast.
