I'll be straight with you guys, doing the top ten lists always exhausts me, it takes me a bit to get back into the swing of things. Sorry this one took a little longer than normal but better late than never, I say.

So any chance more one hit wonder requests will go up for sale?

2016-02-20 06:03:09 +0000 UTCIt's possible he didn't; change it out from last month. More of a mistake. I've learned that if you DO mention something, he WILL notice and rightly correct it, so good job on your part.

2016-02-18 20:06:14 +0000 UTCThat ended up at #2 on his worst list for the year it released. I doubt he's jumping at the chance to review that.

2016-02-18 05:24:40 +0000 UTCThat sounds like the wrong reason to hate this song.

2016-02-17 22:37:32 +0000 UTCThought I guess this inversely explains why I liked Shake It Off. I don't dislike "Hey Mickie". There are moments, yes, but as a whole? Nah. Still doesn't explain why Shake It Off is at its level for me that it is.

2016-02-17 20:54:42 +0000 UTCLoved this episode. I remember my first encounter with this song was Weird Al and Lucy. I learned later how much the original band hated this cover. Apparently they thought it was too racy to be sung by a woman or something.

2016-02-17 18:02:55 +0000 UTCalways excited for a new video! if top 10 lists are too much for you, you shouldn't do it. I'v seen other creators weather its people who make videos, comics, art etc. who got burned out and quit, and I would hate to see that happen with you D:
2016-02-17 18:02:22 +0000 UTCMy first thought on that Shopping From A to Z song was that the intro gave me super strong Devo vibes, so when you said that they actually wrote some of the songs on the album, it all suddenly made sense. She is a super good dancer though, god damn.
2016-02-17 17:43:52 +0000 UTCTodd, you should do compilation videos of the OHWs that couldn't merit a full retrospective. Just like a minute or two for each song. It'd be pretty cool!

2016-02-17 17:18:29 +0000 UTCWhen you take away the nostalgia, there's not a lot to Mickey, to be sure. Still, it makes more sense as a hit to me than Bette Davis Eyes. I genuinely don't know how Kim Carnes got to be one of the most successful OHW's in history... with THAT song, of all songs.

2016-02-17 15:05:56 +0000 UTCThank you Todd. Nice to see you covering something from relatively early in my music listening experience. Even if you don't like the song it's still interesting to watch your coverage of a song that's been part of my life for 34 years. Now all you have to do is an episode about Convoy by W.C. McCall.

2016-02-17 14:49:09 +0000 UTCI knew nothing of Toni Basil except for this song until I read David Byrne's book a couple months ago where he mentioned her as an important choreographer. But I didn't realize the extent of her career. Great episode!
