Hey SS how would you talk about records that 100% confirmed to have happened but the history has been cut by about 30% due to lost footage or unrecorded times?

2024-06-12 09:28:23 +0000 UTCThe one's I see in your videos don't look like youtube format, so I guess I'm wondering about the ones from internet forums. Are they organized to easily scroll to the date you're looking for or are they beneath the specific speedrun upload? I'm imagining really long general discussion threads where you have to scroll for three days to find something from 2011. Maybe that's erroneous.

2024-06-03 21:12:34 +0000 UTCI look around on Soundcloud and YouTube for suggested music similar to artists I already know or use. Then, I email them, asking some copyright questions and asking to pay for a license to use their music.

2024-05-16 22:55:16 +0000 UTCFor old ones who aren't active, it's really tough, and usually I'm either unable to or don't try. Some of them are still active on discord. Or other times, I'll ask active community members if they have any ideas for how to contact older, inactive ones.

2024-05-16 22:54:43 +0000 UTCWhich ancient comments are you referring to in particular? Usually it's from either internet forums, or comments under YouTube video.

2024-05-16 22:53:53 +0000 UTCI just have a question that has kept me curious, how do you discover the music that you use in your videos? I know there are some usual suspects, but it seems like you're adding new ones here or there. And what was it like obtaining permission to use such great music?

2024-05-16 02:12:45 +0000 UTCOne more thing - what's it like hunting down and getting in contact with speedrunners. Especially ones for old games who maybe aren't active in the chatrooms still. Are you searching by their avatar names or do people in the community know their real names so you can get in touch that way?

2024-05-14 23:55:49 +0000 UTCThis is less specific to your videos and more about video editing in general - but I'd love to see or hear about a little of that process. How have you gotten better at pacing and transitions.

2024-05-14 23:54:11 +0000 UTCThis was all interesting to me. I'm also curious about how you locate the ancient comments about speedruns. People in forums reacting to a new record or controversy or whatever. Are you just scrolling down through miles of comments to find the right day/month/year?

2024-05-14 23:52:12 +0000 UTCI just read on twitter that the next video is delayed indefinitely because of a copyright claim. Is it possible to make it available as private video or to upload it on another platform for us patreons? Of course, I totally understand if that's something you don't want to do. Thank you again for all your great videos!

2024-03-26 19:47:55 +0000 UTCI'm not sure if this what you mean by "ideas", but I work for the Internet Archive, which has massive collections of long plays, speedrun evidences, twitch streams, and contextual history for video games (among many other things). I'd love to talk about any possible projects, either something from you about storing historical game footage in your work, or ways in helping find you sets of footage and video.

2024-03-11 17:20:59 +0000 UTCGreat video, thanks for making it for us! I agree that a behind the scenes of the tools you use the edit your videos would be cool.

2024-03-11 03:11:14 +0000 UTCThanks for the peak behind the curtain. I would be interested to get a look at your editing process. Maybe a peak at your video timeline or something. Love and peace.

2024-03-07 19:14:07 +0000 UTCI don't really like portraying people as "villains", I called Bubzia the main character since he set the first WR, has the most recent WR, and had several WRs in the middle as well. He was present throughout the category's history.

2024-03-07 19:09:09 +0000 UTCI loved this behind the scene video! I think for just guessing what you found was interesting that you did a great job. If I were to suggest anything I'd say increase the gap between when you release the main video on patron and the behind the scenes video. That way people that support may be able to ask questions that could go into the video and you'll have some time to go through them.

2024-03-07 18:54:23 +0000 UTCIn the beginning of the video you said something like βthe main character of our story: bubziaβ and I could tell that made me root for him for the whole video. Whatβs your take on portraying some of the runners (as long as they are ok with it) as villains. Like seemingly unbeatable runners that the main character has to grow to defeat, like a story arc within a video. Im doing something like this in one of my vids rn, was wondering what a professional thinks of the idea.
