Why make things better when you can make things worse?

The Annulments really reminded me of the disbanding of the Iraqi Army following the invasion in 2003. Large body of people who could have been kept onside relatively easy become a floating pool of recruits for what came next.

Duncan Fraser

It's an important thing to remind people, and Warner is an especially good example because he's very much a modern version of this guy. So while we like might not understand that the various Louis and Charles truly believed that the system that benefited them was ordained by God, you can see an executive coming up through the ranks (Schmidt, Nadella, etc) truly believing that the system that they're good at using works really well and it's just that it hasn't been applied properly, and they can help by applying it properly. There's real ideological blinders that prevent people from being able to see their privilege and the way Duncan's building Warner feels absolutely right to highlight that.

That "no really, I promise you people truly are that foolish" moment was very funny

I love how Mike Duncan has to remind us that sometimes people are stupid and make stupid decisions that backfire 😂

Matthew Overton

I’m starting to see Mao and The Great Leap Forward parallels with Tim Warner and TNP.

I hope there's going to be a bibliography at the end of this. Bonus points if it's in the Chicago style.
