In reference to her tea comment for Luffy/Zoro, remember Luffy now has immunities/extreme tollerance to poisons now and Zoro is just Zoro and powered through the stomach pain.

@Speedwagon I get what you are saying but I honestly wouldn't want the anime to finish or put fillers like Naruto or bleach did in the middle important stuff which will happen in the near future.

@Tyler Adams yeah I know what you mean, and I Haven't seen/watched One piece (not the G5 filler where the fell from the sky but the rest of the other fillers) bleach or Naruto fillers because I didn't like whatsoever since it didn't connect like one piece G5 filler did. So I wouldn't mind if they go around creating fillers like the first episode of wano however, I seriously hate it when they drag out scenes ep (903 to 905 spoiler) like Luffy vs Sumo guy struggle or when Luffy and Him trying not to fall outside of the ring for so long or Luffy keep on calling Holdem's wrong name many times to just extend it a few seconds.

@Andreas L yes in some cases it is, however not always because not counting the latest 2 and the first few episodes of wano the rest has been shit man. (I'm not talking about art/animation/voice acting, I'm talking about story progression because we didn't really achieve much in those episodes.

@Dante Moten stop reading if you don't want to know when might the actual battle of wano start. So minor spoiler about the date of when final battle might start, so in manga it took 17 months to reach this point where the final battle hasn't even started without any dragging things out. in fact manga didn't some of the fights to just go the next day. I think it will take another 2 years before the final battle of wano starts. So you get it any time soon mate.

Whole cake Island took almost 2 years in the anime, so considering that Wano is a much bigger arc, both in terms of narrative and stakes, I’m not too surprised. I’m just happy that we’re finally here and the story is about to kick it into another gear.

I definitely preferred that format. I know people would complain about filler (and rightfully so since 90% of filler is just bad) but you can always skip it. I never felt compelled to watch Naruto or Bleach filler after a certain point. That way the rest of the series doesn't drag on like OP does

That's why reading the manga is far better than watching the anime. I would prefer if One Piece was like Naruto Shippuden. Always 1 episode = 2/3 chapters, but almost half episodes are fillers. So every episodes have a good pace and you could just skip the fillers. But it would be better if the anime is already finished.

Read this if you are worried about the anime catching up to the manga and there is not a single spoiler in it so don't worry about anything and read it, Thank Me Later For This Info: Wano in manga started in 6/29/2018 at 909 and currently the manga is up to chapter 962. So it took 17 months for the manga to release about 52 chapters which the anime is only adapting sometimes 9 some other times 10 or 11 pages of a chapter. so at the pace the anime is going it will take about 2 more years for the anime to get to where the manga is at least. since I'm not counting the breaks which the anime might have due to future events. To give you an example, the Marco and Nekumamushi episode was only 6 page, Luffy and Zoro meeting Hawkins for the first and fighting with him (which includes all the talking and transformation and etc) was only 10 pages in the manga but in the anime it took few episodes.

For real, episode 900 is about as slow as you can get, but it does pick up again. As much as I hate to say it, we need a filler arc or something. The anime is too close to the manga.

Darn no option for One Pace for these episodes.. Well just know that the pacing for these as well as the next 3 or so eps is pretty... slow. It's gotten better the past 2 episodes fortunately though.

I couldn't put it any better myself. Luffy's lack of character progression and his constant slowness to even save Otama is infuriating. I figured after getting through Whole Cake Island he'd start acting a bit more serious and make himself out to be someone who you really don't want to mess with (especially his friends). Yet we get a useless as ever Luffy. Only good for the big fights like the early One Piece days.

Allona, I think you have forgotten this but Poison doesn't work on luffy, so all those animals are okay for luffy to eat while not for other people because they don't have a strong poison immunity system like Luffy. Since Luffy developed strong poison immunity in Impel down since he was covered from head to toe in Magellan's poison as it was melting away at him. So right now most strong poisons regardless of it's form being liquid or gas doesn't work on Luffy.

As much as I hate to say this since it ruins the enjoyment of the anime, I still want to say it. So what I hate about the anime is that they showed Batman to be kind stronger than Zoro and Luffy by having them have so much problem and struggle with the kaido's sensei's infinit arrows while in the manga they just left batman in the dust and went after tama. Also, the anime is showing Luffy to be reckless and keep on making mistakes in the previous episodes and now, it also shows that Luffy really didn't have much character development and progression, after all the sacrifices other people did for him and the things he went through in whole cake island to get away from a weakened emperor. While in the manga Luffy is serious and doesn't make much reckless moves or make stupid decisions like he is keep on doing right now. There are more problems that I want to talk about but you are still behind 2 or 3 episodes on that
