You might be on to something. As we know, BM's intel gathering is top notch. So she must be aware that their are other types of powers besides DFs .. She could easily be misunderstanding the source of her powers since no one ever told her. But I also think she just has this mental block in her mind that's keeping her from thinking of the truth.
