Chapter 226: Alex – As Powerful As Ever

Twin beams of crimson energy clashed in midair, locking in a brutal, glowing deadlock that lit up the entire underground plaza. The force of the collision sent shockwaves rippling across the room, dust trembling off the walls, air vibrating like a struck drum.

Around them, the gathered mutants stood frozen in disbelief.

Their leader—Nocturne, one of the feared Three Horsemen—was struggling.

And he was losing.

Charles and Hank, however, didn’t flinch.
They had seen this before.

In every battle, every impossible confrontation, Alex always came out on top. He wasn’t just strong—he was inevitable.

And this time was no different.

The clash of heat vision lasted only seconds before Alex’s beams surged forward, swallowing Nocturne’s like a tidal wave devouring a candle flame.

“No...!” Nocturne gritted his diamond teeth, face contorted with effort. But it was hopeless. Alex’s heat vision wasn’t just overpowering—it was on an entirely different level.

BOOM!

The moment the opposing beams collapsed, Alex’s energy slammed into Nocturne’s face.
The Horseman was blasted backward, diamond heels gouging trenches across the floor.

Before he could recover—
CRACK!
—a sonic boom echoed through the chamber as Alex appeared above him and drove a brutal kick down.

Nocturne’s skull splintered on impact, jagged diamond cracks spreading like a spiderweb.

“STOP!”

A golden comet streaked across the plaza, hurtling toward Alex with explosive speed. The impact was immediate, the air splitting apart as a radiant fist—coated in blinding kinetic energy—smashed toward Alex’s head.

“Daybreak is here!” one of the mutants gasped.

The second Horseman. Rumored to be even stronger than Nocturne.

Alex didn’t blink.

He backhanded the incoming figure.

WHAM!

Daybreak was launched sideways, crashing through three concrete walls in a blur of gold and smoke.

Silence followed. Then—
Panic.

Mutants who had stood arrogantly moments ago now stared with pale faces, all fight draining from their bones.

Daybreak, the supposed trump card... swatted aside like an insect?

But he wasn’t finished.

A golden blur returned, hovering midair with restrained fury. Daybreak’s eyes flared, lips curled in a tight smile.

“Alex Winters… You are everything they say.”
His voice was low, dangerous. “But who are you people?” Charles demanded from behind. “I’ve scanned every mutant in New York. You shouldn’t exist.”

Daybreak chuckled. “You think your machines can see everything? We’re not your average anomalies.”

Then, his gaze snapped back to Alex, heat in his voice.
“You’ve earned my respect. Release Nocturne, and let’s see what you’re really—”

CRUNCH.

Alex’s boot came down.

Nocturne’s diamond skull shattered, shards scattering across the floor like broken glass.

Dead silence.

Even Daybreak froze.

The arrogant grin vanished. So did the bravado.

Alex didn’t look at him.

Didn’t raise his head.
Didn’t explain himself.

He just spoke—calm, cold, absolute.

“Talk less.”

His eyes flared again, burning molten red.

“Fight more.”
