Just wanted to give you a quick progress report. I've been working to get a main channel video out by the end of this year, but—you probably won't be surprised to hear—I am running behind. I'm at the stage of finalizing a script so I can film—a much simpler production than CONSPIRACY, which should go much faster—but I've been sick most of the last two weeks, which has destroyed the last of my hopes of publishing two videos in the same calendar year.
I am feeling better now, and am still confident I can get this video out in the next couple months. After that, there will be a burst of Tangents, a CONSPIRACY retrospective/BTS, and another attempt to reach the two-main-channel-videos-per-year goal.

I don’t want to disparage critique — it’s usually a sign of a functioning mind — but some of these comments feel like they’re expressing dissatisfaction as if they represent “what the majority of well-meaning, non-radicalized viewers think,” or as if Natalie’s moral validity is contingent on perfectly mirroring everyone’s own individual, and often conflicting, sentiments about an ongoing, emotionally catastrophic conflict. I feel my own morals being vicariously held at gunpoint on this topic. There’s something especially disheartening about seeing this directed at someone whose work has, for years, explicitly unpacked the psychic toll of being deluged with bad-faith, absolutist, or dehumanizing commentary — and who has repeatedly emphasized epistemic humility, uncertainty, and the limits of individual perspective. If literally anyone’s audience should recognize how corrosive that dynamic is, it’s this one. I’m not calling for anyone to co-sign her every comment. But I am calling for everyone to stop expecting her to speak only in truths or glory. I do want her to know that many of us see what’s happening here, and appreciate the care she’s taken in speaking about something where there are no clean answers. For what it’s worth, I’ve personally felt closely aligned with everything I’ve heard her say so far — not because it’s perfect or exhaustive, but because it’s thoughtful, human, and refuses easy moral theater. this was written with love anyway thx queen step on me anytime! also tangent request slightly louder than everyone else’s: the absolute magic of season six of love island usa <3

My dad is a big time conspiracy theorist going back to the 90s, like so big he took me to January 6th when I was 18 (we didn't storm the capitol or anything. Also before Trump spoke did you know he played Candle in the Wind? There's poetry in there I'm not smart enough to unpack lol). I remember him showing me the Fall of the Cabal on BitChute, and he used to walk around telling people about frazzled.rip. He insisted we read this book called "The Curse of Canaan" by Eustace Mullins, which was this book about how white people are the real children on Shem and the jews are the children of Ham I think? One conspiracy I'm disappointed you missed is that Barbara Bush is apparently Aleister Crowley's daughter who was conceived in a depraved SSSSexual ritual. But your analysis that conspiracism is a belief system, and almost a religion, really helped me understand where my dad was coming from and why his beliefs were wrong. I remember him saying "I believe that world was created to facilitate the resolution of the conflict between good and evil", and I was like WAIT THAT'S DUALISM NOW IT ALL MAKES SENSE WHAT I'm so glad you made this video. I had fallen down the 4chan alt-right rabbit hole for a few years, and it was youtubers like you (and a patient gay coworker) who pulled me from the brink and helped me understand why my beliefs were fucked up and wrong. Thank you for what you do. I just want you to remember that your youtube channel changed my life for the better, and I think that counts for something.

I’ve been an ardent fan for years now and your video essays have had a massive impact on my life and values. Over the years I’ve even hosted watch parties for your videos like they’re movie premiers. More importantly, I’ve looked up to you as a voice in leftist and liberal circles who cuts through the noise of self-defeating leftist rhetoric that promotes despair and inaction. It was disappointing to see how your statement mirrored all that you once criticized in videos like “Canceling.” To say that all the posting and protesting on behalf of massacred Palestinians has done little but radicalize Americans into electing Trump is, well, not true, but more importantly, highly irresponsible for someone like you who I believe at this point is a public intellectual, someone whose voice could BE a force for change. I do hope and believe that you change your mind on the value of continuing to FIGHT, with words, protests, money, and yes, public stances, against the Israeli state and the genocide of Palestinians. Unfortunately, I can no longer be a Patron, for multiple reasons. (“Airline departure” jokes incoming!) I was horrified to hear that leftists were spamming you with Gaza war footage for telling people to “vote blue.” You didn't deserve that. FWIW, I would’ve voted blue if I were American. But your response shouldn’t have been to deny *the very real & multifaceted uniqueness of this atrocity,* and to suddenly treat the subject as unmentionable and beneath you. I was confused by this change, then noticed that your most incisive (and correct) posts about Gaza from 2024 were deleted too. Now when you post, “After 10/7, videos of Palestinians parading a young woman’s corpse through the street inflamed support for the assault on Gaza,” people notice the subtext, and the active & passive voices. As you know, JK Rowling went from a trans ally, to “an ally with concerns,” to an ardent bigot. She claims, credibly, that this was down to how "trans activists" treated her online. Careful: this “oppositional defiance” in response to bullying is compelling, but not worth surrendering to. Like a whirlpool. My goal isn’t for you to feel accused by whining stans, or to apologize or placate. I want you to know how you came across to well-meaning viewers who aren’t radicals of any kind. That aside, I’ll always think you’re a sorceress of creativity, funny as hell, and deserving of peace. For my part, I’ll continue to wear my STOP BEING POOR t-shirt in hopes that it comes true.
