Video Transcripts, New Reward Ideas

Hey gorrrrggg,

Just wanna check in with y'all about some plans I'm making!

First! A lot of you have requested written transcripts of my videos, and I hear you! My assistant and I are working on creating what is basically an article version of each video, and with future videos that will come out the same week as the video.

Obviously I put a lot of effort into the videos and I do prefer that people consume my content that way, but I understand there's various reasons release a written version. For example, believe it or not, some students and academics actually like to cite my videos in their work, and it's generally easier and more respectable to cite an article than a YouTube video. Other people just don't watch YouTube, and are more receptive to reading an article. The transcripts will be hosted on my website (yes I have a website now!) and shareable on social media. I'm thinking this will be a public release, not a Patreon reward.

Second! It's time to replace the reward for the $5 patron tier. Currently it's "access to commentaries on old videos," but realistically I'm not doing those anymore, because looking back on old work has become very difficult and fraught for me, and I think it's better for all of us if I just don't.

So—we need a new reward. One idea I have would be like little 5-minute behind-the-scenes mini documentaries for each video (or for certain videos). Basically I'd have someone film me while I talk you through building the sets, doing my makeup, maybe even filming the video itself. Does that sound like something that you'd want to watch? This page is big enough now I can afford to have an editor put these together for me, and that way I won't be spending to much extra time on them. Let me know!
