Meh, I really wasn't made to be that kind of "hero", narratively, as an author, I understand why you did that. But as an author who likes to write selfish characters and who only think about their people, and the people close to them... In this situation, if it were my protagonist, I would say fuck the ship, and make everyone explode, thus saving my friends with some plot power. Maybe going after the villain, and using his ship? After all, he has to escape somehow. I don't care about those businessmen, and disgusting rich people. As the Mandalorian says, the galaxy is better without them. If we're going to give motivation to the MC, his very existence is motivation, even if he goes to the other side of the Galaxy, Palpatine wouldn't rest, and would do anything to get to him. Let's say in the future, Jaden creates a city, or becomes attached to the native people, then Palpatine arrives and blows up the city. MC would get Rimuru's treatment, and that would be more than enough motivation, after that, he would find out that he created him, blah, blah, and that way, he would have more motivation.
