Charge Up Front enabled / art voting reminder / misc news
Added 2018-08-05 16:18:58 +0000 UTCFirst, I'm back from vacation so development on Exile should continue shortly. I plan to put a release out within a few days with more encounters set in the new Ice Roads terrain.
Second, charge up front is now enabled for Exile of Aphrodisia. This means that in order to become a patron, your credit card / paypal will be charged immediately upon confirming your pledge. This feature was available to only select patrons for the past couple years and has recently become public for all creators.
The reason behind this is that there is often abuse with patrons pledging, claiming the rewards, and dropping their pledge right before collection starts, and since all files become immediately available when you become a patron and not when payment goes through, charge up front makes more sense as a creator.
Charge up front does not nullify the payment that occurs at the start of the month, so if you pledge on the 28th of a month, you will be charged again on the 1st as far as I am aware, so please keep this timing in mind if you are considering pledging for only a short time. (I don't know what the situation is if you drop your pledge and choose to add it back later--maybe someone who does know can post that in the comments.)
