Upcoming Changes to Tiers 4-6

Hello, my lovely patrons.

I've been resisting this for a while, but it's time to make a change. In short, I will be deleting all three sketch request tiers starting in September 2025. This means August 2025 will be the last month for sketch requests for the foreseeable future. Any patrons on those tiers after I delete them will have to manually switch to another tier or be considered a "non-tier" patron. I will give plenty of notice when the switch happens.

Instead of the old tier 4, 5, and 6 I will have a new $15 tier for those who want to maintain their other benefits, especially commission discounts. No other changes will be made to the tiers at this time.

You might be wondering why this is happening. I have a few reasons:

1. I have a bunch of comic ideas I've been waiting to make, but I just don't have the time or energy. Sketch requests aren't the only thing keeping me from this, but they are a major use of my time that could be used elsewhere.

2. For a long time I struggled with not knowing what to draw, which sketch requests were great for. I was able to make work that people cared about and improve my drawing skills at the same time. However lately I've only had the ability to work on one major project and then nothing else but sketch requests month after month. I have a growing list of ideas I'd like to get to. I want to start a webcomic. I want to make smaller one-off illustrations and comics, not just series. There will be plenty of series comics too. This change will allow me to pursue those ideas. I'll still be working on concepts like the Lola-verse, just more under my own direction and at my own pace.

3. It's just time for a change. I think the sketch request project was largely successful. Starting in 2023, my lovely patrons got to see their ideas realized and I got to make some really fun art. I think it has run its course, though. I want to change my routine to keep things fresh. This isn't an ending or a sunsetting situation. This is the start of a new paradigm.

For those patrons at the higher tiers who wish to keep working with me to some degree, I will be offering them a larger commission discount for the rest of 2025. Before I delete those tiers, I will make a post for those affected patrons where I will go into more detail on how this is going to work.

I know this is a big change and I completely understand if higher tier patrons don't stick around. I appreciate each and every one of you, no matter how long or how much you support. Your support allowed me to pay my bills and live as an artist. I'll never forget that.
