hey matt, im working on a desk like this and wanted to know if you had any problems with the desk given that you've had it for a while. Id like to know especially if there was a problem with heat and airflow

Hi Matt! Really interesting project. I've been thinking about building a desk pc for myself for a while now, and I think this upright design of yours is so much better than the horizontal ones. Without the U shape, a horizontal case just makes it so difficult to achieve sufficient leg room! I have a question regarding the temperature inside the desk though. In your video, you mentioned that the ambient temperature inside the case wass 36 celcius (iirc), which was ~15c above your room's ambient temperature. That sounds like quite a lot to me, even though your CPU/GPU temps were ok. Would it be possible for you to measure the temperature of the cooling liquid, or maybe compare the temperatures with the window off? I'm thinking of making a electric, wall-mounted standing desk with your design, possibly combining this desk with your design for the monitor lift. If it turns out that the temperature inside the case is causing the heating efficiency to suffer, it could be fun to add some automatic latches that open when the temperature rises too high, and turn on some case fans. Hope to hear back from you!

I agree. There's so much excitement with the new Ryzen chips! I just hope it's well-deserved. The launch is only one month away, so they'll be here soon. Any hints or teasers you want to share with us about your next DIY? Or, will you be enjoying the summer sun for a while?

I would love to see you water chill this computer, as I'm currently working on one myself! A good video that inspired me was Der8auer's "DIY AliExpress Chiller - IT WORKS!" Youtube video. You can attach a temperature sensor to help avoid condensation, delid your CPU and apply liquid metal, and so much more. I have so much to say, but I'll end it here lol. Good luck on your next DIY!
