I agree! Controlling your anger and desire for revenge takes a lot of strength, so choosing not to pursue it is definitely a form of strength. But at the same time, it’s so hard to forgive something like that 😭

I don't think anyone can be considered weak for not being willing to end a person's life. You can argue to exhaustion about who is and isn't worthy of the death sentence, but what you can't argue about is the profound importance of life. Ending a life is always horrific even when it is necessary. Katara was right not to allow her anger to get the better of her and it proves just how much she values life (and the fact you also feel like you couldn't says something similar about you). As Aang said it would do nothing to heal her pain, in fact it would make it worse. I mean where does revenge stop right? How about all the other soldiers on board the ship? Or the person who ordered the raid? What about the civilians who provided the supplies for them? It would've eaten her up from the inside and made her a worse person.
