2025-10-20 23:50:14 +0000 UTCI think Garfield's change in attitude is a repeat of what happened in the mansion arc. In the first cycle, Subaru gained Garfield's trust to an extent and Garfield saw Emilia break down multiple times. But in the 2nd cycle Subaru doesn't gain that trust and Garfield does not see Emilia's suffering. Instead he sees an arrogant guy pretending he can do everything by himself. And it's the same cause both times. Subaru is too focused on the goal, but not concerned enough with everyone's feelings about their current situation and how to handle it. So Subaru's practical solutions actually pushes others away since it also pushes away their feelings.
