I was truly inspired by the short movies Studio Trigger did and when the TV Series was announced I literally started drawing it. I was originally planning to make a finished product then sell it in early access again just like I did with Haruhi a year earlier. Unfortunately, the anime quickly showed off so many flaws and got so bland and boring (for me, at least) that I completely lost motivation to keep drawing (you can see how the quality quickly declines after page 15, especially on the backgrounds).
I took a break from drawing this comic after 15 pages, then came back to it a while later while opening Patreon again, for real this time. The first Patreon campaign was not very successful: there were just a few bland sketches and not even a proper comic being delivered daily, I think there was maybe a couple of pages for DQ:N during weekends. Thanks to Diaper Witch Academia things went a lot better and it helped Patreon grow steadily. I am immensely grateful to all the people that decided to join during the DWA period, which was basically the start of everything as you know it today.
