Rem's death is the most brutal thing so far 😭 Thank you again for the detailed explanation 💖 I really want Subaru to stop only thinking about himself and start seeing things correctly 😭

And he's been nothing but nice to him, so there would be no reason to hate him, but Subaru just gets mad and lashes out at him. A well reasoned adult would talk things over with Julius, like he suggested and that would probably be the end of it. But he's just keeping a grudge like a child. Same could be said about the scene with the shop keeper and them discussing the royal candidates. He doesn't even try to see it from the people's perspective, that Emilia is seen as the witch or a relative of the witch and that alone makes people scared of her. He doesn't even try to see it from a different perspective than his own and just lashes out at everyone, even the shopkeeper who he'd be on friendly terms with. It's like you said, he doesn't understand how this world works, but that's exactly why he should be careful talking about that stuff, especially with the knowledge he has about the witch and how everyone has reacted to it before. Emilia and other people got super mad at him when he called her Satella, Ram didn't want to discuss the witch story, Emilia being constantly described looking like a witch and being scared of going to public places and saying stuff like going to the village with her might cause Subaru some trouble. It's like the shopkeeper said, as long as people see her that way, she would never become the ruler. Wilhelm said that it was useless to try and teach someone how to fight with a sword, if they've given up on getting stronger. At first it was Subaru's anger driving him forward and he focused all that anger into getting stronger in swordfighting, most likely to get back at Julius. Now that Crush (and Felix) gave him advice on what he should do, he figured out what he can do, thus giving up on the option of getting stronger by learning how to fight with a sword. I'm glad you can see how Subaru is behaving in a horrible way and how he understands things is just absolutely wrong. He doesn't take time understand anyone but only thinks about himself. "You stole my sister's horn and stole my reason to live, but that wasn't enough? Now you have to come here and steal my reason to die, too?!" Man, this line alone is so cool and sad at the same time, I love it. I absolutely love Petelguse's introduction. He's an amazing villain. He is sometimes translated as Betelguse but the right spelling would be Petelguse. In essence, what Petelguse was saying about Subaru acting crazy was that he was acting that way to gain sympathy out of them. Essentially, he was still doing it for himself. Even if he was truly depressed and gave up, he was still technically sane. Truly brutal how it took Rem's death for him to snap out of it. "Look. You must look. That is the result of your actions. By doing nothing, you practiced sloth. And because of that, the girl is dead! You killed her!" He isn't wrong in essence. If Subaru hadn't fallen into depression and been the way he was, she would probably be alive. It's because he did nothing that things ended up this way. You can even see a glint of light come back to his eyes, when he notices that Rem was still barely alive, when she started crawling towards him. That is the hope and determination coming back, giving him the drive to keep going, at least a little longer. What a brutal death to witness though. You guessed right, it was Puck that said "Sleep along with my daughter." also alluding to the fact that Emilia died (because he called her his daughter before). Now Subaru and his snow sculpture really matched with them both getting beheaded!

2025-09-18 19:19:33 +0000 UTCEp 15 is one my favorite episodes in all of anime but one of the most tragic episodes Subaru was mentally broken he was shut down but it took rem dying so cruelly to snap him out of it Which is even more messed up the music and the ending credits had me in shock when I watched it for the first time Also the line now sleep along with my daughter was puck saying that
