Added 2021-11-13 16:00:04 +0000 UTCLarius and Svanbard (the huge sky pirate) are actually watching the arena fight. You can see Larius' shield on page 10 and 32. Svanbard can be spotted on the left in the upper panel on page 28.
Furthermore, Larius makes a reference about how Loraile's spell had a different charge up time in the arena fight (page 83), an additional hint he was actually watching the fight. I also wanted to somehow make Svanbard make a reference to the arena event but the big guy is mute, so on page 292 he simply points at her as if to say "She's actually a pretty strong girl, you know?"

Svanbard doesn't talk, no one else of the crew knew who she was. That's why :p
2021-11-14 14:19:40 +0000 UTCNow that you mention it, I wondered why pirates would try kidnapping them. First rule of pirating, never pick a fight you can't win. So, I'd say they made a grave miscalculation.
