2025-06-03 10:05:10 +0000 UTCthe reason they don't see through there identities is in the source material, they were mask to over there eye's, but cid also uses magic to lengthen his hair and height as shadow, so its harder to tell. the anime seems to have opted for a shadow over the eyes due to budget, but it gest the job done.
