Wondrous item, very rare
Said to be designed in honor of a platinum dragon, this holy item represents both damnation and renewal. You can use an action to throw the egg at a point that you can see within 30 feet of you. The egg detonates on impact, destroying it. Roll 6d8. Good-aligned creatures within 40 feet of the point gain a number of temporary hit points equal to the total. Evil-aligned creatures must make a DC 16 Constitution saving throw; a creature has disadvantage on this saving throw if it is undead. On a failed save, a creature takes radiant damage equal to the total rolled and is stunned until the end of your next turn. On a successful save, a creature takes half as much damage and isn't stunned. A creature of neither Evil nor Good alignment is unaffected.
If you're a cleric or paladin, you can expend a use of your Channel Divinity as part of the action to throw the egg. If you do, you gain a bonus to the total rolled equal to your level in each of those classes, and the save DC for the Constitution saving throw changes to match your spell save DC (unless it's lower than 16).
Retrieving the "unguarded" holy relic had been too easy, of course, and now the adventurer found himself surrounded by the sanctuary's skeletal guardians. In life, these guardians had been holy monks, but their oaths extended beyond their mortal coil—much to even their surprise. As a result, the adventurer now stood before so many shambling protectors, wailing and clawing their way towards him.
How fitting, then, to use their relic to release them from their toil?
Calmly, and with a sense of holy purpose, he held the bejeweled platinum egg aloft. It glowed with a divine warmth, as though eager to carry out its duty. He called out into the dark, “Wretched undead! With this, you'll find your holy service concluded,” and hurled their holy prize into the fray.
