You can use an action to press this brass stamp against a blob of wax to create a magical wax seal, provided the blob of wax was mixed with diamond dust worth at least 100 gp.
When a creature or object bearing a magic wax seal enters the area of a spell of 3rd level or lower for which the caster could specify a number of unaffected or otherwise permissible targets, that creature or object is considered to be an unaffected or permissible target until it leaves the area. The seal then burns away, destroying the wax. For example, a creature bearing a seal could enter a door affected by arcane lock, or enter the area of an alarm spell without alerting the caster of the spell. Alternatively, if something you do would trigger a glyph of warding, the seal is burned away and the glyph is temporarily suppressed until the start of your next turn. A creature or object can bear multiple seals at once.
He counted on his fingers: two seals for the security spells he knew were there, and at least two more to cover the enchanted locks to the office and the desk.
Easy enough, he thought to himself.
What he didn't count on, though, was the professor still being in said office, at said desk, grading the paper he meant to reclaim—before it was obvious that he hadn't done the work himself.
