Ring of the Golden Directorate

Ring, legendary (requires attunement)

This shimmering gold ring has been blessed by a solar and is articulated, like the finger of a gauntlet. At its base is a large embossment of a solar's face. While wearing the ring, you are always under the effects of the tongues spell, and you can use an action to cast detect evil and good from it.

The ring has 7 charges for the following properties. It regains all expended charges daily at dawn.

Blinding Judgment. You can use an action to expend up to 3 of the ring's charges to summon a greatbow of golden light to your hand. The bow is nocked with a number of arrows equal to the charges spent. You then make a spell attack for each arrow as part of the action to summon the bow, using a +13 spell attack bonus. Each target must be within 150 feet of you. On a hit, a target takes 3d10 radiant damage. Hit or miss, the arrow then explodes. The target and each creature within 5 feet of it must make a DC 17 Constitution saving throw. On a failed save, a target takes 1d10 radiant damage and is blinded until the start of your next turn. On a successful save, a target takes half as much damage and isn't blinded. If the spell attack hit the original target, that target makes the saving throw with disadvantage. A creature can't be subjected to this saving throw more than once per turn.

Golden Barricade. You can use an action to expend 2 of the ring's charges to summon a wall of spinning, golden blades, starting at a point that you can see up to 60 feet away from you. The wall can be up to 30 feet long, 10 feet tall, and 5 feet thick. It remains for 1 minute, until you dismiss it early using a bonus action, or until you use this property again. The wall provides half cover to creatures behind it, and its space is difficult terrain. When a creature enters the wall's area for the first time on a turn or starts its turn there, the creature must make a DC 17 Dexterity saving throw, taking 4d8 radiant damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.

Holy Sword. You can use a bonus action to expend 1 of the ring's charges to cast the arcane sword spell from it (+9 spell attack bonus). This version of the spell deals radiant damage, instead of force damage.

When the small tiefling returned to the solar, she was no longer small. The years had written themselves in scars and wrinkles upon her red skin and dark hair—well, silver, now. She stood tall and proud on the gleaming temple floor, now transformed by a lifetime of achievement.

Raikya had walked the lands in the solar's stead, collecting secrets and skills to wield against the mortal evils of the world. She had been the judge and jury for all of them, executioner for some.

For her efforts, the solar granted her a ring—in truth a finger of his celestial gauntlet. She wore it proudly. Now, when she scoured the world for evil among its lairs and banquet halls, flashing that same charming smile, she did so with a divine hand and blessed purpose.
