Starstudded Leathers

Armor (studded leather), very rare (requires attunement)

This armor is covered with polished, star-shaped studs. While wearing it, you gain a +2 bonus to AC and a +5 bonus to any Dexterity (Stealth) check you make. The armor has 3 charges and regains 1d3 expended charges daily at dusk.

Emanate Starscape. While wearing the armor, you can use a bonus action to expend 1 of its charges to create a 10-foot-radius magical starscape, which originates from you and moves with you. If it's between dusk and dawn, the area's radius increases to 15 feet. The starscape remains for 1 minute; it ends early if you fall unconscious or if you end the effect early using a bonus action. The stars are pinpoints of light that fill the area like the night sky and illuminate it with dim light. When you move, the stars remain fixed in space, winking out as the area shifts to reveal other stars and constellations.

Invisible creatures other than you within the starscape become outlined in a bluish glow, preventing them from benefiting from invisibility while in the area. In addition, whenever a creature within the starscape hits you with an attack, it must immediately make a DC 16 Dexterity saving throw. A target takes 2d12 radiant damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one. Furthermore, for the duration of the starscape, you can use a bonus action to send a mote of starlight hurtling at a creature that you can see within 60 feet of you. Make a ranged spell attack for the mote, using a spell attack bonus of +8. On a hit, the target takes 1d12 + 2 radiant damage. If the target is within the starscape, the attack is made with advantage.

"The stars are beautiful tonight, aren't they?"
"...Are you just looking at yourself?"

What's a classier way of saying "that shit's dope"?? I see the NPC wearing this being an egotistical, semi-zealous, fraudulent fortune teller. They tell futures based on the stars, and when people complain they aren't coming true they redo the reading and then shoot people with light to "rid them of their doubts".

Very cool 👍. In my own lore I think I'll have it originally made by an order of guardians who were tasked with protecting their civilizations celestial observatories and astronomers/astrologers from harm. Might even have to homebrew a class for them that lets them have a companion based on the sign they were born under in their world's zodiac.
