Heroic Ideas — Choose 2 community item ideas to be made!

Each week on Discord, community members nominate other members' suggested items to be made into official Saddlebag items. The top two most voted-for item ideas each week get made, following back and forth workshopping and discussion.

Here are the randomly selected item ideas drawn from this week's nominations!

Ideas

1) Perceptive Pastels — A small box of 1d4 + 1 pastel chalks. You can draw either: an eye, ear, or mouth with the chalk before it crumbles. While the drawing persists you can use an action to look, listen, or speak through it, respectively.

2) Narrator's Bookmark — This red leather bookmark has a rounded end and is creased in the middle. When placed inside an open book you can speak its command word, causing it to animate like a tongue, reading the book aloud in the language it was written and continues until it finishes the page.

3) Ambitious Medic’s Badge — A magical badge etched with a raven feather and herb sprig. Wearing it replaces any lost limbs with blue, rubbery replacements, and you gain bonuses to Medicine checks you make while wearing it. You can also restore hit points to other creatures using your Hit Dice, and determine other creatures' creature types.

4) Espionage Deck — A deck of magical playing cards. You can use sleight of hand to place a card on a creature and always know the general location of that creature until it becomes detected or until 7 days pass, at which point it returns to the box. You can also use an action to see and hear through a face card of your choosing.

5) Event Horizon Grasp — This strange prosthesis is made of a starry void surrounding a meteoric alloy. While attuned, the prothesis replaces your lost arm and extends your reach up to 10 feet. You can cast the telekinesis spell, allowing you to throw objects or creatures, along with the reverse gravity spell once per day.

6) Chill Rose Petal — This white rose petal feels soft and cool to the touch. You can eat the petal to gain cold resistance for 8 hours, but eating or drinking anything else will cause you to take cold damage.

7) Tanuki’s Bag of Banditry — This canvas laundry bag features a raccoon tail motif at its base. You can designate a building as your safe house, then at a later time, scoop yourself and allies into the bag. The bag will transport you to your safe house and dump you out, giving each creature an illusory raccoon tail. You can also use the bag to cast invisibility on yourself.
